Debate Competition: Indian Economy Post Covid-19 Recession or Recovery

“Harmoney”, the Finance Club organised a debate competition on 15th January 2021 at 2:30 P.M. on Cisco Webex Platform. And the topic for the debate was Indian Economy Post Covid-19 Recession or Recovery. Having discussed the Indian economy amongst students led to spreading awareness regarding finance. The idea behind conducting the competition was to deliver a brief idea about the Finance club and engage students with finance-related activities. The event started with Nanditha Menon's introduction and was followed by briefly describing the debate's rules. There were 14 participants in the respective competition and seven rounds in which two participants were facing off. Out of which two winners were announced and followed by a speech by our own Prof. Binu P. Paul. The last part of the event was Vote of Thanks, which was followed by Aman Kumar Karna. It was just not a competition but a learning experience for both the volunteers and the audience about how important financial awareness is to keep ourselves intact with the happenings. The event was organised by Mr Piyush Kumar, Ms Faria Khan, Ms Nidhi Singh, Ms Nanditha Menon, Mr Aman Kumar Karna under the guidance of the respective Finance heads, Mrs Soumya V and Mr Ambuj Gupta There were 14 participants in the whole event as their mentors selected them from their respective mentoring teams. The participants were Shruti Tiwari and K.P. Shreyas from  Ambuj sir's team, Sneha Kundu and Piyush Kumar from Soumya ma'am's team, Debopriya Chatterjee, Nilay Kumar, Sathyam Kumar Ahirwar and Shuchi Bhatia from Jobin sir’s team, Himakshi Gupta and  Yaseen nazir Malla from Stanny sir’s team, Mohit Agarwal and Shefali Agarwal from Anushal Saxena's team and Darothi jas and Shreshtha Bhowmik from Sharad Gupta's team. There were two winners in the debate competition, Himakshi Gupta securing the first position and Shuchi Bhatia securing second. In the day-to-day financial environment, the upcoming activities and their role in engaging the finance as well as other specialisation students in learning new terms. It was just not an event but a learning experience for both the volunteers and the audience about how spontaneity and creative skills are essential to pitch yourself.
