St. Kuriakose Elias Chavara Lecture Series

January 03 is celebrated as the Founder's Day in reverence to our founder St. Kuriakose Elias Chavara.

Saint Kuriakose Elias Chavara was a devout Christian clergy who led an extraordinary life of piety and committed action to transform society. He was a visionary who envisaged a just society where all humans would be worthy of dignity, education, justice and respect. To accomplish his vision, he founded the congregation of Carmelites of Mary Immaculate (CMI), in 1831 with a vision to serve the marginalized and underprivileged. The CMI congregation inspired by life and teachings of St. Chavara renders its service in educational, social, health care and other sectors with the aim of uplifting the marginalized and integrating them with the present-day society.

As a gesture of reverence and to inspire the present generation of young adults to discover the greatness of St. Chavara, the School of Law, Christ (Deemed to be University), Pune-Lavasa introduced a Law Lecture Series. The Law Lecture series's objective is to invite leaders from different walks of life who have contributed to the Transformation of society around us.
