DIGITAL EMPOWERMENT - BY THE WOMEN FOR THE WOMEN
International Women's Day 2023 is a day to celebrate women's achievements, reflect on their struggles, and advocate for gender equality. In recent years, women's rights have made significant strides in many areas, but there is still much work to be done to achieve true gender equality. Women continue to face challenges and discrimination in various fields, including employment, education, healthcare, and politics.
On this occasion, Day CCHS invites all the female staff of CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Pune, Lavasa to attend a session on "Digital Empowerment- By the Women for the Women" on 13th March 2023, 3.30-5.30pm. The first speaker of the session was Dr. Shrutika Mishra, who is an option trader with five years of experience in the stock market. She started the session on Option Trading and provided beginners with strategies and abilities to trade in options through real-time analysis. The speaker explained that traders can maximize their returns while taking limited risk by holding a short or long position. To predict future trends, traders apply different technical indicators and determine the direction of stock movement, its range, and the time frame. The speaker also discussed the risks involved in option trading and how to manage them effectively.
The next speaker was Ms. Pramila RM, who spoke about System Management and Security. She discussed various methods to speed up the system, such as running %temp% to clear the temporary files, disabling unwanted startup programs from the task manager, turning on storage sense from the search bar, and changing the power settings to balanced mode from the advanced power settings. She also highlighted the importance of restarting and shutting down the system instead of directly shutting down, which helps in clearing the system's memory and enhances its performance.
The speaker also discussed cybersecurity and the importance of 2FA authentication. She shared some general cybersecurity tips like using strong and unique passwords, avoiding public Wi-Fi, avoiding clicking on suspicious links, keeping the system and software up to date, and not sharing personal information online. She also emphasized the need for women to be aware of online scams and fraudulent activities and take necessary precautions to protect themselves from such threats.
Dr. Vandana Bhagat delivered a thought-provoking session on the importance of leveraging data analytics in the ever-evolving digital world. She emphasized the need for women to acquire digital skills and knowledge to remain competitive in the job market. Dr. Bhagat provided insights into various data analytics tools, such as Tableau, and the significance of artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), and deep learning. She further discussed different types of analysis, including descriptive, diagnostic, predictive, and prescriptive, and how each of them can help businesses make informed decisions. The session shed light on the potential of data analytics to help women become financially independent and secure in the digital economy. Dr. Vandana’s talk on data analytics offered a comprehensive understanding of the subject. Overall, the session was a great initiative towards empowering women with the knowledge and skills required to succeed in the digital world.
