GUEST TALK: CORPORATE INTERNSHIP AND A WAY AHEAD TO GREAT PLACEMENTS



The School of Business and Management MBA's marketing department organized a guest talk on March 10th to provide first-year MBA students with valuable insights and knowledge on how to get an excellent internship and the keys to great placements. The event was held in the smart room of the management block during the 1 pm to 2.30 pm club hours with MBA first-year students in attendance.

The event was anchored by Lionel Nunes and Latha Joseph, who are from the marketing batch of MBA 2022-24. The HOD school of business and management MBA, Prof Jobin Jacob, and other faculty members graced the occasion. The faculty coordinators responsible for the event were Prof Stanny Dias and Prof Tanya Sharma. The students of the MBA Marketing Department planned and organized the event.



The event started at 1 pm, and the student coordinators ensured all the students were well seated and settled. The faculties took attendance, and all the students and marketing students were present. The volunteer team provided the smooth functioning of the event. The emcees introduced the speaker, Mr. Shobhit Singhal, who spoke about his experience and shared many insights and knowledge about placements.

Mr. Shobhit Singhal emphasized the importance of self-branding and projects. He shared his experiences as a student and corporate, and as an alumnus, he could relate to the problems students face. He emphasized that students must work on themselves before preparing for the industry and placements. He highlighted that more than knowledge, it is the attitude and skills that the industry looks out for.

He guided the students through various platforms like canva.com, calendly.com, crisp.ai, and brain.fm on how to plan the routine of achieving placements in 80 days. He showcased tools like Canva to create a professional resume, Crisp to make professional emails, and Brain.fm to keep the focus on work.

The second part of the event was the question-and-answer session. The students were given turns to ask questions regarding placements, which the speaker explained and showed ways and tools to work on getting good placements.

The event was a great success, with students benefiting from the interactive session. The speakers provided valuable insights and knowledge, and the students were highly engaged and participated actively in the Q&A session. The student coordinators well organized the event, and the faculty members provided excellent support.
