Fast-Track Your Creativity: A Canva Workshop for Smarter Design 2.0


On 17th January 2024, the Centre for Academic and Professional Support (CAPS), in collaboration with the Department of Languages, successfully hosted the workshop titled "Fast-Track Your Creativity: A Canva Workshop for Smarter Design 2.0". This advanced, hands-on session was tailored for students enrolled in the MA English with Digital Humanities (MAEDH) program and focused on designing visually compelling newsletters and annual reports using Canva. The workshop was conducted from 8:30 AM to 10:30 AM at Room No. 2111, Management Block.

Building on the success of the previous session, the workshop addressed feedback and specific interests expressed by participants, such as learning to create professional newsletters. The training aimed to provide attendees with a step-by-step guide to mastering the art of designing newsletters and annual reports that are sleek, engaging, and impactful.

The session began by outlining the fundamental steps to creating effective newsletters, starting with defining the purpose and audience. Participants were introduced to:

  • The importance of selecting a cohesive color palette.
  • Understanding legal compliance for newsletters.
  • Breaking down designs page-wise to avoid clutter.

The trainers emphasized the value of thoughtful content finalization and strategic design elements to streamline workflows while fostering creativity. By exploring Canva’s robust features, participants gained insights into producing professional-quality content that blends functionality and visual appeal.
