Midsem ReCAPS

The Midsem ReCAPS event, organized by CAPS, was conducted for the second time, building on the positive feedback from students who benefited from the previous session.Designed to provide personalized academic support and exam preparation strategies, the ReCAPS initiative aims to address common academic challenges faced by 1st and 2nd-year Law students, such as understanding difficult concepts, resolving doubts, and improving exam performance.

The core of the ReCAPS program lies in its peer mentorship model, where senior students serve as peer trainers to guide participants through complex topics. This approach not only offers doubt-clearing sessions but also equips students with valuable tips on effective exam techniques. By leveraging the experience and expertise of senior students who have successfully navigated similar academic challenges, ReCAPS creates a supportive and relatable learning environment.

Tailored specifically for 1st and 2nd-year Law students, the program connects participants with senior trainers specializing in the subjects where students need assistance. This personalized matching ensures targeted support, allowing students to receive in-depth guidance on challenging concepts and learn effective study methods. The peer trainers focus on enhancing academic performance through comprehensive support, addressing both theoretical understanding and practical exam strategies.

To promote greater participation and engagement, the Team Leads conducted pilot classes before the event. These sessions served as an introduction to the ReCAPS program, providing students with a clear understanding of what to expect and the benefits of joining. The pilot classes played a crucial role in generating interest and encouraging students to actively participate in the program.

The Midsem ReCAPS also emphasized the importance of one-on-one interactions between students and their trainers. This personalized attention created a supportive space for discussing academic concerns, building confidence, and reducing exam-related anxiety. The one-on-one format allowed for tailored guidance, addressing individual learning needs and fostering a deeper understanding of the subjects.

Additionally, the program incorporated Peer Group Training sessions, promoting collaborative learning and peer support. These group sessions facilitated discussions, shared problem-solving strategies, and encouraged students to learn from each other’s CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Pune Lavasa Campus - ‘The Hub of Analytics’ experiences. This combination of one-on-one mentorship and group training ensured a well-rounded support system for all participants.

In conclusion, the Midsem ReCAPS event successfully provided a platform for academic growth through personalized peer mentorship. The positive outcomes from the previous session, along with the enhanced structure and promotional efforts in this edition, contributed to its success. The program not only improved academic performance but also fostered a sense of community and mutual support among students. The feedback from participants highlighted the effectiveness of peer-led guidance in boosting confidence, clarifying doubts, and enhancing exam readiness. ReCAPS continues to be a valuable resource, reinforcing the importance of academic support and peer learning in the overall development of Law students.
