An Incredible Learning Experience Amidst Nature
Marketing students of CIML will
visit Eco- Village on 7th December 2019 as part of CIA-3 activity. The
overnight stay at the resort intends to offer a great learning experience.
As per the instructions each
group has to make an infomercial/ promotional video of Eco-Village which
could be shown to the potential target market by the management. Towards
the end of the video, they have to answer a question per group. The videos ought to be submitted
on or before Monday, 9th December 2019.
Eco – Village is located in the midst of the Sahyadri mountain
ranges in Pathershet village, 57 kilometres away from Chandni Chowk, Pune. Their
products and services include jungle trek, nature tour, astronomy and camp
fires where nature is in abundance. Close proximity to Moosi river, a tributary
of the Mutha river, a forest and abundant natural landscape will give an unforgettable
experience as they will rejuvenate themselves and bond with nature.
Group 1
has to mention the marketing model pursued by Eco-Village and suggest new
possibilities and give a substantial reason for the same. Group 2 has to
find out and answer consumer behaviour with reference to Eco-village and recommend
ways and means to improve a customer’s experience at the resort. Group 3 will
ponder over the challenges faced by Mr. Kalapure, the Founder and suggest possible
solutions to stimulate growth. Group 4’s task is to find out details about STP
done by Eco- Village and suggest what more needs to be done and how. Group 5’s
target is to recommend how Eco-village can better “sweat” their assets to have
a steadier revenue stream. The marks will be awarded on the basis of clarity
of idea, video quality, answer to the questions and individual contribution.
The
main objective of this trip is to offer an educational/ rural exposure to the
students. A case study has been shared as a ready reference as it will give
them a better understanding of the site. Mr. Kalapure will visit CIML on 9th December 2019 and share his
valuable experience.
The students will get an idea
about life in a rural countryside, the glitches, the hurdles and find ways to
overcome the challenges. As part of activity they will design a product which is
most suitable for rural set up. The students will also learn about the Eco –
Village, a sole proprietorship venture and understand how Mr. Rama Rao Laxman
Kalapure established it in 2005 with one purpose in mind ie. ‘to help people connect
with nature in a fun and responsible manner’.
The students will be escorted by Dr Jayant Mahajan, Counsellor,
Ms Arpita Ghosh and Assistant Professor Jobin Jacob.
