CSA Contributes For A Social Cause
Centre for Social Action (CSA) is a unique initiative of CHRIST, Lavasa
where student communities are sensitized to various issues affecting
people from different walks of life. The sole aim of education, apart
from academics, is to bring about a change when students work for a
noble social cause.
Under the aegis of CSA selected undergraduate students went to a school on 2nd December 2019 in Bhoini village and interacted with the little children of the school. The main mission was to convey a message of maintaining sanitation and hygiene among children and menstrual hygiene for women in Bohini Panchayat.
The students staged a street play to drive across the point and intermingled well with the students. The Christites addressed the students in the class and played lots of fun filled games with them. They sang songs for them and gave them light snacks after personally washing their hands with a sanitizer.
Director & Dean, Dr Fr Jossy P George’s presence inspired the children and local residents. He expressed his joy and satisfaction to see the students of CHRIST, Lavasa engage themselves in all the activities. He was appreciative of the efforts of student coordinators and wished them well. Assistant Professor Anita from CIML addressed the young mothers and briefed them individually about maintenance of personal hygiene. The visit, interactions, encouragement, sense of involvement and a follow up will effectively contribute towards the upliftment of the lower strata of the society.
The entire event was successfully coordinated by Counsellor, Ms Gouri and Dr Ginish with the support and guidance of Fr Jossy George and Fr Arun Antony.
