Interaction with Parents - Director's Message
I
know sitting in front of screens has become the new normal. So addressing you
all through this online mode is surely an experience to remember for all of us.
I understand that this could be difficult or unusual for a lot of you. But in
this regard I’m reminded of our students who are forced to spend their campus
life online. How hard it must be for them to miss out on one of the best
experiences of their lives – being a student.
It is not easy on our faculty either, but
they, along with our management team have been working very hard to make this
sudden transition for them as smooth as possible. At Christ we have been
spending more time and effort for the efficient running of daily matters, with
our students extending great cooperation as well. So I would like to begin by
appreciating all of them, for their dedication and drive that is in line with
the spirit of CHRIST and what CHRIST stands for.
Let me also express my heartfelt gratitude to you, the parents, for constantly
motivating your wards to be their best selves.
Initially when we decided to hold
examinations online for our students, we were faced with a lot of objections
and criticisms. But since we only had the welfare of our students in mind, as
always, we decided to go ahead with our decision. This eventually turned out to
be rewarding. Since most of our students graduated on time they could
successfully move onto the next step in their career path. Several institutions
followed this model after govt. announcements were made encouraging online mode
of examinations. It gives me great pride to say that even in this trying times,
CHRIST and Christites continued to be ahead of schedule, with much efficiency.
While
CHRIST continually strives to achieve excellence in academics, we equally
encourage the non-academic pursuits of our students. It was only a month ago
that our student welfare office successfully coordinated and completed the
event DARPAN. This is truly a major task given the complications associated
with conducting cultural programs and activities over online mode. However,
everyone rose up to the challenge. Students, faculty members, coordinators, all
their efforts, enthusiasm and hard work collectively made DARPAN the success
that it was. And it gives me great pleasure to say that this zeal extended
across other events as well like the HACKATHON, OST to name a few.
We have received several requests from
students about wanting to come back to campus, of how they are missing out on
the campus experience. Lavasa is one of the safest places since you all know
that we have zero reported COVID cases here. However, let me inform you that
CHRIST is still equipped to meet the needs of the hour in this current pandemic
situation. One of the ways in which this has been ensured is by our appointment
of a full-time in-house doctor. Let me assure you that once the government
gives the order we will have made all arrangements to ensure the safety and
well-being of our students. We are equally eager to have our students back on
campus.
During the course of this difficult
time we received several mails and words of encouragement from a lot of the
parents. This support and love that you have shown us is indeed heartwarming
and gives us the motivation to continue to work towards the betterment of our
students and their interests. We hope that you will continue to extend this
love and support for the entire duration of yours and your wards journey with
us.
