GLIMPSES FROM IGNITE 2020 - Kindling the festing spirit in you


Christ (Deemed to be University), Lavasa, has persistently functioned around the objective of Holistic evolution of young minds. The School of Business and Management Association and School of Commerce Association is a perfect platform for the students to develop and explore the existing and newfound potentials. On that note, IGNITE 2020 - an intra class business fest conducted exclusively for the first-year students of BCOM and BBA. The theme of this fest- “Kindling the festing spirit in you” intends to kindle the young new minds with the novel ideas. School of Commerce, Finance and Accountancy & School of Business and management offered variety of meticulously planned events were conducted on the 5th and 6th of November to showcase the talents of our very new enthusiastic batch of Christites.




5th November marked the beginning of Ignite’20. Day 1 started off with the inauguration ceremony wherein Ms. Amala Siby, Assistant Professor, Department of Commerce and Management, formally welcomed the students and briefed them about the flow of events for the next 2 days. 




The 6 first year classes : 1 BBA A, 1 BBA B, 1 BBA C, 1 BBA D, 1 BCOM A and 1 BCOM B; were each given a pseudonym : Iris, Mantis, Bisque, Cyan, Auburn and Azure respectively. These pseudonyms were used by the participants of each class while taking part in any event. We saw a total of 320 students participating in full zest and zeal.




Day 1 and Day 2 was quite eventful. Day 1 covered few rounds and ended with a overnight task. Day 2 covered the rest of the events and ended with the valedictory ceremony. The events were aptly classified into 5 : 

1. The Dominus – The Best Manager

The Dominus tested the participant’s innovation, leadership, business acumen and their managerial skills. This event provided a platform to tap their inner potentials and swift decision making capacity to emerge as tomorrow’s Best manager. The participants were taken through 8 different rounds and only one participant got the desired Best Manager Title. This even witnessed a total of 29 participants.
The Dominus Title is won by KULSOOM JAVED – 1BBA C
The runner up Title is won by VIJAY KRISHNA V – 1 BBA D

2. The Ducibus – The Best Management Team

The Ducibus tested the confidence, knowledge, unity, grit, and problem-solving skills as a team. The rounds were created around the dynamics of a Management Team. 3 students form a team and they were taken through 8 rounds eventually resulting in one team winning. There were 11 teams participating in this event with a total of 33 participants.
The winner is AARON PATRICK CROSS, SUHANI SRIVASTAVA & VEEBUTI BHATIA – 1 BBA A
The Runner up team is SUSHIM GUPTA, SHAIK ABDULLA & REVANSHI SAINI – 1 BBA B

3. The Auctrix – The Best Marketing Team

The Auctrix tested the manipulation, wit and confidence in the ideas depicted by the participants. The rounds refracted from different details of the Marketing area to test the participants their marketing skills, interpersonal skills and the team’s unity in the whole process. 8 fun yet aptly demanding rounds were conducted. Each team comprised of 2 students. 13 teams were witnessed in this event, thereby a total of 26 participants.
The team won is TANMAY JAKHMOLA – 1 BBA A
The Runner up team is VISHAL BIBYAANI & AYUSHMAN TOMAR – 1 BBA B

4. The Consiliarius – The Best HR Team

The Consiliarius provided a forum where students experienced real world problems through case preparation from diverse perspectives. Multiple rounds were meticulously planned and presented to identify the apt HR managers. There were 6 rounds and only 2 students were allowed to form a team. This event witnessed a total of 25 participants.
The winner is RIDHI SONDHI & VARIAN CRASTO – 1 BBA A
The Runner ups are EDWIN RAJI JOHN & ANANYA RAINA – 1BBA A

5. The Fiscus Procurators – The Best Financial Team

The Fiscus Procurators aimed at conveying the participants with the comprehensive insights of the financial world. 9 different rounds were created around the dynamics of Corporate Finance and Financial Markets. 2 students were allowed to form a team. There were 25 students participating in this event.
The team won is PRITISHA SARMA & MARIA REBECCA – 1 BBA D
The runner up team is AASHNA KARLA & AMARJOT SINGH – 1 BCOM A




The two day event was successfully organized and coordinated by the student body of CUSBMA & CUCA Lavasa campus in collaboration with CUSBMA Bengaluru Central campus and Institute of management, Lavasa campus. This event sure did tap the talents of the new batch of christites and provided a platform to showcase the same. Thus, Festing spirit kindled in the young minds of Christ University!
