71st Constitution Day Celebrations Inauguration and the organisation of Samvaad: The discussions on the Constitution of India

The Constitutional Law Studies Committee one of the Committees of the Student Bar Association of the School of Law, (Christ Deemed to be University), Pune Lavasa Campus commenced the Constitution Day celebrations on November 26, 2020 with the inauguration and an event called “Samvaad” that is the Discussion hour on the relevance and Challenges in Indian Constitution. It is a weeklong celebration with various events comprising of symposium and academic competitions. 

The Constitution Day (National Law Day), also known as Samvidhan Divas, is celebrated all over India on 26 November every year to commemorate the adoption of the Constitution of India. On 26 November 1949, the Constituent Assembly of India adopted the Constitution of India, and it came into effect on 26 January 1950.


The Programme commenced with the Preamble reading wherein Fr. Dr. Jossy George the Director of the Lavasa off campus inaugurated the event by lighting the lamp and rendition of Christ Anthem and addressed the students stating the importance of the Constitution of India. 

"SAMVAAD" – the discussion hour was the event for the day. There were senior student speakers as panel members for a change and a student moderator and they actively participated in the discussion on the relevance and challenges of the Indian Constitution. It was a refreshing and enlightening discussion as students are our future nation builders. This facilitated in creating awareness of the Fundamental Duties as enshrined in our Constitution of India. The Faculty as well participated and the event of the day concluded by all rising online for the National Anthem. 

There were 122 students, 11 Faculty members, 5 support staff and the Director.

The Program continues for a week with an address by Chief Justice of Bihar High Court, and a PIL Drafting Competition.

PANEL DISCUSSION ON LEADERSHIP & ENTREPRENEURSHIP DEVELOPMENT SKILLS

The School of Commerce, Finance and Accountancy organized a "Panel Discussion on Leadership and Entrepreneurship Development Skill " on 4th March 2022 at 1:30 PM at CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Pune Lavasa Campus.   Ms Ayushi Chandna student of 6 BCom (Financial Analytics) commenced the session with silent prayer & briefed about the Panel Discussion.
