Crescedent, Annual Athletic Meet organized at CHRIST, Lavasa
Crescedent,
the annual athletic sports meet was organized on 17th and 18th January
2020 at Central Block, CHRIST, Lavasa under the guidance of Academic
Coordinator, Dr Fr Arun Antony and sports teacher, Mr Prakash.
The first day events were walking race and short put for faculty and track events for the students. The second day events were equally thrilling and the icing on the cake was a wonderful closing ceremony. The entire valley reverberated with the sound of drum beats. The winners were awarded medals and certificates and Director & Dean Dr Fr Jossy George blessed them and wished them to retain the sportsmanship spirit in all their endeavours.
The
students assembled according to their respective houses in the well
manicured green lawn. It was a grand opening amidst loud cheer. Nihaal
Thapa anchored the program confidently. The inter to intra competitions
were meticulously planned and executed.
It
began with recital of a prayer song by Mallika and Anshika. It is a
fact that sports ignite the fire in a student and playing a game in its
true sportsmanship was exhibited on the track and field events.
Director
& Dean Dr Fr Jossy George called the present batch of 2019 very
lucky since they have inaugurated most of the events including the
sports meet of CHRIST Lavasa Campus on a new ground. He applauded the
untiring efforts of sports teacher, Mr Prakash in ensuring a fair play.
Fr Jossy inspired them to develop a true sportsmanship spirit and
remember that they are life long learners and must always play with
enthusiasm.
The
event was inaugurated with the release of multi coloured balloons. The
Chief Guest on this occasion was Sanchit Roy Choudhury from the first
Batch of 2014. He was pleased to be on the campus and recalled the
journey of the college since it's inception. He felt as if a heartfelt
prayer has been answered when he recalled the journey from 2014 to
present. He expressed his confidence that CHRIST, Lavasa is set to
compete with CHRIST University, Bangalore. He noticed a passion infused
in the students by their coach and wished them all the best.
Vedant
Mishra took an oath on behalf of everyone. The teams gave a brief
introduction about themselves and also competed against each other.
Soren Sharma played music on his guitar and Vaibhav Swami sang a
cheerful song. The vote of thanks was given by Craig Alexander.
