COLOURS OF INDIA 2020


On the auspicious occasion of country’s 71st Republic Day CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Lavasa presented a panoramic extravaganza of contemporary performing arts through a vibrant program aptly entitled `Colours of India on 25th January 2020 at CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Lavasa.  It showcased spectacular performances based on dance, drama and music. It was a perfect manifestation of Indian culture, which is rich in varieties of art form and a wonderful representation of unity in diversity. The day began with Sports Day celebration of Dasve Public School at CIML followed by annual alumni meet, which was attended by nearly 26 students.


The stage was set, anchors, singers and dancers were all geared up for a spectacular show. The vibrant, colourful and exciting extravaganza of dance and music presented by extremely talented students from Christ University, Bengaluru and CHRIST, Lavasa held everyone spellbound.

It was followed by a scintillating and vibrant performance by a team from Bengaluru. The performance by extremely talented and phenomenally spectacular `Nityaarpana’ from CHRIST, Bengaluru stole the show. They were notch above what one sees regularly. It reflected hours of practice to achieve perfection and the tireless efforts and unflinching motivation of the teachers to train the students to be the best. The attention to minute details, constant practice and timely action taken to handle all kinds of situations made the event a grand success. CHRIST, Lavasa band and dance troupe also gave fabulous and energized performances.


It was followed by a fabulous and intense theatrical presentation in the form of drama entitled 'Darpan' efficiently directed by Dhruv Sangwan. It has been rightly said that a good story is the one which leaves you to think but the performance thrilled everyone to the core! The program ended with the valedictory ceremony.

The success of the programme lay in meticulous planning and lots of hard work. The students gave exemplary performance and it was appreciated by one and all. The range of music and dance programmes were highly appreciated by the audience. Colours of India was efficiently anchored by Valerena Clayton, Utsavi Bhatia and Varishth.


 The event will be further continued on 26th January 2020 at Creaticity, Yerawada, Pune as Bollywood Dance Fest, a curtain raiser to INSPIRA’20. CHRIST, Lavasa students will compete with students from various universities. The entire two-day program has successfully coordinated by SWO team under the leadership of Assistant Professor, Akhil Nair.
