First Commencement Day Speech by Mr. Santanu Banerjee, CHRO, Bajaj Allianz Life on Tuesday, 10th August, 2021 at 2.30 PM to 3.30 PM

The speech session was started with the welcoming of the guest by Director, Rev. Dr. Fr. Jossy George CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Pune Lavasa Campus – “The Hub of Analytics”. 

 

Mr. Santanu is a HR professional with rich experience of over two decades of providing vision and counsel for steering organizations through accelerated growth paths. He has the experience of managing large institutions & start-ups environment with equal ease & agility. He has spent more than fourteen years in large financial service institutions handling both life & general insurance companies and have headed the key functions of HR & Learning for Aditya Birla Health Insurance Company, SUD Life Insurance & now as the CHRO for Bajaj Allianz Life.

 

His inspiring speech started with defining the success and its meaning to people and institutions in large. He asked the audience to define success. Most of the audience defined success as per their own thinking and expectations. He shared the great insight for the MBA program and the golden rules for success in MBA. He shared his lifelong experiences with the students. In the basket of his golden rules he talked on fixing the goals for the MBA Program. He emphasis that the students need not to become a book worm rather they should appreciate and enjoy every facet of the MBA Curriculum. He coined the term Zip Zap Zoom MBA. He made the audience to realize how fast the MBA degree will get over. He also mentioned about the importance of networking, team management skills and interconnection approach. He mentioned that the MBA students should be technology savvy and adjust to the new business normal situations. He further explained the importance of research in the business and the lives of the professionals.

The session was quite interactive. Newly inducted MBA students’ asked several questions related to internship, live projects and current final placements scenarios. He mentioned about the life learning skills the current student need to adopt. He mentioned about upskilling the students in the area they of their interest. He further mentioned about the importance of internship program in the management student’s life. He mentioned that one should do two to three internships during MBA Program. Internship helps the students to upskill them and become job ready. The job market is open for new talents. He mentioned about the success story of campus hiring at BAJAJ Allianz Life last season.

The speech was ended with the vote of thanks given by Mr. Shownu Winstington, Placement Coordinator, CHRIST (deemed to be University), Pune Lavasa Campus.
