Inauguration Ceremony of IIC (E- CELL)
To foster the spirit of innovation and entrepreneurship among students, Christ University Lavasa, Pune has established an IIC council and E-cell in the university. The inaugural ceremony of IIC E-CELL was organized on 20th August 2021 at 4 pm. The ceremony started with a warm welcome address by Dr. Becky Thomas, Head- Research and coordinator- MBA. Dr. Thomas discussed the focus of Indian government on setting up incubators nationwide and role of higher educational institute as part of IICs. The welcome speech was followed by motivational words from Fr. Dr. Jossy P. George, Director and Dean Christ Lavasa and Director of IIC CU Pune chapter. He motivated the students the importance of innovative ideas and need of setting up indigenous startup to solve the problems from the surrounding.
The motivational talk was followed with a motivational video on changing technologies and need of innovativeness to survive. It showcased the changes in businesses and drivers of success and how best to achieve entrepreneurial goals. Moving ahead, there was a talk by Ms. Eshita Maheshwary Co-founder at Encubay and creative strategist, Bangalore, India. Eashita is a serial entrepreneur, mentor and investor. She shared her journey as an entrepreneur and also the pains an entrepreneur has to go through while innovating and establishing an enterprise. She also discussed how she started her startup Encubay as a women entrepreneur. Further she told what it takes to become an entrepreneur by adding points such as focus on ideas, innovation and accept failures as a learning to do better in business even a good connection and networking can be the support system and have the hunger to do more and joy of small wins should be celebrated to motivate the team to become a good entrepreneur
There were around 220 students and 10 faculty members attended the event.
The session ended with a question- answer session with the students.
At the end, the vote of thanks was proposed by Dr.Arti Agrawal. Dr.Manjiri Sharma was the master of ceremony.
