SAPIENTIA MUN 2022

The Sapientia MUN’22 was conducted by the School of Commerce, Finance and Accountancy on the 7th January 2022 and 8th January 2022, on the Zoom online platform at CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Pune Lavasa Campus. The event commenced with an opening speech given by Aniket Sharma, the presiding Secretary General of the MUN during which the MUN was declared open. The event ran for two days from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM. There were two committees-United Nations.


Security Council (UNSC) and All India Political Parties Meet (AIPPM). Both the committees were presided by the very capable Executive Board who ensured the delegates remained interested and enthusiastic. The UNSC had 8 participants and AIPPM had 18 participants. The agendas discussed were “Discussions on the Implementation of Uniform Civil Code, keeping in view the observations made by the Honorable Supreme Court” in AIPPM and “Addressing the Proliferation of Armed Militias in Destabilized Countries” in the UNSC Committee.

In the UNSC committee, the best delegate was awarded to Iraq and Australia was highly commended. South Sudan was recognized and specially mentioned for their wonderful delegation. In the AIPPM committee, moderated by Dheeraj Narayan Yadav awarded Rahul Gandhi as the Best Representative, highly commending Arvind Kejriwal with special mention to Rajnath Singh and Narendra Modi.The event was closed on the 8th of January with a closing speech from Pritisha Sarma, the Director General.


The event was very well conducted. The participants were very enthusiastic and took to the event with gusto. Even though, the number of participants was low, the quality of the conference was top-notch. These two days saw a lot of impassioned debating being conducted and the overall feedback from the participants was largely positive.
