An Account of the Day

Our Christ Bus departed from the University around 6:00 AM with refreshments.

After a warm welcome by the receiving organization around 8:30 AM we departed with all the special kids and volunteers. The innocence and delight on their countenance set the tone of enthusiasm for the day.

We arrived at 10:30 AM with everyone back to the University. After refreshing, we all had a filling breakfast i.e Poha and Tea at Café By The Valley. Next we gathered systematically in the smart room where the Unified Championship was declared open. It was graced by the presence of Reverent Father Justin P Varghese, Dr Lija Jacob and the ANO Prakash Pillai.

We then proceeded with our art activities to fuel their creative side. Once assigned their sheets of paper, they immersed themselves in the imaginative world of colors. Their passion was truly commendable. We captured this beautiful memory and then moved on to lunch. After having a sumptuous lunch(Salads, Aloo methi, Paneer Kheer, Chapati, Rice) at Chopsticks from 1pm to 2pm, everyone rejoiced for the most awaited event of the day, The Unified Sports.

We had arranged for Bocce, which is their favorite go to game. We also had everyone cheering for them in both ball in bucket as well as lemon spoon race. At last we commenced with Tug of War. Then we all swayed to the music and concluded the evening with a little bit of dance. It was then time for the valedictory session where the ones who won the competition were awarded with medals and certificates. It was around 5pm that we bid farewell to them.
