Inauguration of Academic Year 2024-25 for MBA II Year



On 27th August 2024, from 1:30 PM to 3:00 PM, the School of Business and Management at CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Pune Lavasa Campus, hosted the Inauguration of the Academic Year 2024-25 for the II Year MBA students (batch of 2023-25). The event, held in the Auditorium of the Management Block, marked the beginning of the new academic year and set the tone for what promises to be an enriching year of learning and professional growth.

The inauguration ceremony was well-organized, following a clear itinerary that highlighted key messages from the institution’s leadership, along with an important orientation for the students.


1. Inauguration and Welcome Note

The event commenced at 1:30 PM with an energetic welcome note by the Emcee. This brief introduction set a warm and inviting tone, welcoming both students and faculty to the occasion. The Emcee acknowledged the excitement surrounding the new academic year and highlighted the significance of this formal commencement. It was a moment to reflect on the journey ahead, which is filled with opportunities for learning, personal development, and professional success.

2. Invocation Song

Following the Emcee’s introduction, the event continued with an Invocation Song by a HR Student Ms. Judy Jenny. From 1:30 PM to 1:35 PM, the solemn and harmonious tune provided an uplifting atmosphere, symbolizing the importance of starting the year on a spiritually grounded note. The song brought a sense of unity and reverence to the auditorium, creating a calm and focused environment for the rest of the program.

3. Welcome Address by Fr. Dr. Lijo Thomas

The key highlight of the event was the Welcome Address delivered by Fr. Dr. Lijo Thomas, the Dean and Director of the School of Business and Management. His address, which lasted from 1:35 PM to 2:00 PM, was both motivational and insightful. Fr. Dr. Thomas emphasized the importance of resilience, adaptability, and commitment as students transition into their second year of the MBA program. He reminded students of the dynamic nature of the business world and the critical role that MBA graduates play in shaping the future of industry and commerce. 4. Exam Orientation by Prof. Monica

At 2:00 PM, the event transitioned into a more practical session with an Exam Orientation presented by Prof. Monica. The orientation, which ran until 2:20 PM, provided essential information about the examination framework for the upcoming academic year. Prof. Monica outlined the structure, timelines, and expectations for various assessments, ensuring that students were well-informed and prepared for the academic rigor ahead. This session was crucial in setting clear expectations and helping students understand the university's assessment standards. Prof. Monica’s presentation was concise and detailed, giving students a solid foundation for planning their studies effectively.

5. HOD’s Address by Dr. Resham Lohani

The final session of the event featured the HOD’s Address delivered by Dr. Resham Lohani, the Head of the Department for MBA. Her address, from 2:30 PM to 3:00 PM, was an inspiring conclusion to the program. Dr. Lohani spoke about the vision and mission of the department and emphasized the importance of aligning personal goals with the broader objectives of the MBA program.
