Book Review Competition
The objective of the competition is to promote a culture of reading and intellectual engagement within the academic community. By encouraging participants to critically analyse and thoughtfully review literature, the competition aims to enhance critical thinking, foster cross-generational dialogue, and celebrate diverse perspectives on important themes and ideas.
The book review competition was initiated with small prey. At the initial stage, the anchors welcome all the judges, participants, and audience. After the welcome, Mr. Santosh welcomes all judges (Dr. Anil Sir from the Dept. of Management and Prof. . Aaron George from the Dept. of Languages) and Associate Dean Dr. Jibreal Jos. Before starting the completion, one of the judges, Prof. Aaron George, explained the rules of the competition. The competition starts with the book review by Dr. Jibreal Jos. After this, as per schedule, one by one participants presented the book review in front of judges and the audience. Simultaneously, each and every participant received appreciation and suggestions from judges and the audience. For the book review competition, a total 19 entries were received, and out of 19, 10 participants presented in the book review completion.
The audience and participants all enjoyed the event, and they got critical information about the book, author, and publication with their genre. This information inspires the reader to read the book.
After all presentations, the judges declared the result of completion, and the winner of the completion was Miss. Anushka Chakraborty from the BBA Dept. and runner-up Miss. Kavya Anil from the Dept. of Data Science. The winner rewarded a set of best reading books (3 books) with a winner certificate, and the runner-up rewarded a set of books (two books) with a certificate with the judges and associate dean. Also, all participants and volunteers received certificates.
All congratulate the winner and runner-up. At last, Mr. Santosh presented a vote of thanks to all judges, Associate Dean, all participants, and the audience with all volunteers. The same time, all received feedback for the Google form of the event.
In conclusion, The Knowledge Resource Center (Library) and Readers Club’s Book Review Competition on September 21, 2024, was a success, showcasing literature’s role in fostering critical thinking and a passion for reading. The event featured engaging book reviews, insightful feedback, and recognition for outstanding participants, with Miss Anushka Chakraborty winning first place and Miss Kavya Anil as runner-up. This event not only highlighted the value of literary analysis but also strengthened the community’s commitment to intellectual growth and shared learning.
