Web Development Workshop: A Three-Day Hands-on Empowering Session for First-Year MSc Data Science Students
CHRIST Infotech, the research and development center of CHRIST (Deemed to be University), successfully organized a comprehensive workshop on Web Development for first-year MSc Data Science students. The workshop was conducted over three days, from November 7 to 9, 2024, between 9:00 AM and 03:30 PM.
The workshop was designed to equip students with the essential skills to build responsive and functional websites using fundamental web technologies.
The Topics Included:
● HTML (Hypertext Markup Language): Students learned the foundational building blocks of web development, starting with HTML. The focus was on structuring web content effectively, using elements like headings, paragraphs, tables, lists, and forms.
● CSS (Cascading Style Sheets): The workshop introduced CSS to help students style their HTML structures. The focus was on layout design, font styling, colors, and positioning, empowering students to create visually appealing web pages.
● Bootstrap: Participants explored the Bootstrap framework, learning to develop responsive and mobile-friendly websites with minimal effort. They gained hands-on experience using predefined classes and components, speeding up the web design process.
The highlight of the workshop was the final project on the third day, where students were tasked with designing and developing a fully functional webpage using HTML, CSS, and Bootstrap. This project allowed students to apply their newly acquired skills, solve real-world problems, and showcase their creativity in designing an interactive and responsive website.
