Script to Screen
On the occasion of National Librarian Day (12th August 2024), it means the birth Anniversary of Padma Shri Dr S R Ranganathan. 12th August is considered as a National Librarians Day in India. The Department of Library in Association with Readers Club organised a quiz Script to Screen. In the quiz, 122 students participated. The quiz was based on those movies that are based on published books.
The quiz master was reading the questions as per ppt and participants raised their hands if they knew the answers to the question. At the same time, the volunteers reach the participant and take note of their answer secretly. After that, the quiz master declared the answer with the name of the winning participant who had given the correct answer. The winner was getting a reward like a chocolate at the same time. The quiz master was reading the questions one by one and after that he was declaring correct answers with more information about books as well as authors. Simultaneously, the librarian was informed of the available books in the library also. In the end, 5 students got the same points. That time, the quiz master used a tiebreaker round and asked a last question to all five members and one of them gave the correct answer so that the quiz master declared him as the winner of the quiz. The winner of the quiz was rewarded a big chocolate.
At the end of the event, Dr. Chidambaram N. (Senior Professor) expressed his views about the event. Finally, the librarian expressed thanks to all participants, readers club members, quiz masters & faculty members.
In conclusion, the Script to Screen quiz, held on National Librarian Day in honor of Padma Shri Dr. S. R. Ranganathan, was a resounding success. The event engaged 122 students in an enriching experience that combined their love for books and films, fostering excitement and learning. Through a well-organised session, participants enhanced their analytical skills, gained insights into literary adaptations, and experienced the joy of reading and knowledge-sharing. The event concluded with heartfelt appreciation from Dr. Chidambaram N. and a vote of thanks from Mr. Santosh, reflecting the collaborative spirit and enthusiasm of all involved.
