Inclusive Education & The power of UX

The International Teaching–Learning Week at CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Pune Lavasa Campus, centered on the theme “Inclusive Education and the Power of UX.” The interdisciplinary event was led by two distinguished scholars — Prof. Sulochini Pather from the University of the Western Cape, South Africa, and Prof. Sabah Boustila from Manchester Metropolitan University, United Kingdom. Mélange 2025, a Model United Nations conference, was organized by the School of Business and Management – BBA on November 27th and 28th, 2024, at CHRIST College Pune. The two-day event brought together 60 school students from across Pune city to participate in a diplomatic simulation centered on the theme “Proxy Conflicts of the 21st Century.” The conference was conducted as an extension activity of the department, aimed at engaging school students beyond the university community and fostering early exposure to higher-order learning environments. The primary objective was to develop critical thinking, public speaking, negotiation, and global awareness among school students by immersing them in structured debates on contemporary international issues, while also nurturing interest in leadership, diplomacy, and responsible citizenship. Legal Aid Camp

1st Day As part of the institutional commitment to community engagement and experiential learning, the 5th-year BA LLB students conducted a legal aid survey and field visit to Mutha village, Maharashtra. The activity was undertaken to assess socio-legal challenges, evaluate awareness of constitutional rights, and identify gaps in access to welfare schemes and grievance-redressal mechanisms. The team visited households across diverse socio-economic backgrounds, documenting issues related to public services, legal literacy, and administrative responsiveness.  The survey revealed that while most residents possess essential identity documents such as Aadhaar, PAN, ration cards, and voter IDs, their awareness of Fundamental Rights, legal aid services, and government schemes remains significantly limited. The Industry Connect & OST Competition was successfully organized by the School of Business and Management (MBA), CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Pune Lavasa Campus, on 15 December 2025, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Auditorium, Management Block. The event was conceptualized as a blended academic–industry engagement platform, aimed at strengthening experiential learning through interaction with industry professionals and competitive student participation. The program commenced with a silent moment, seeking blessings for the smooth conduct of the event. EKLAVYA 2025, an inter-departmental entrepreneurial fest organised by the School of Business and Management – BBA in collaboration with Christ University School of Business Management (CUSBMA), was conducted from 4th to 6th December 2025 at the Pune Lavasa Campus of CHRIST (Deemed to be University). The event was conceptualised as an experiential, elimination-based academic fest aimed at evaluating higher-order managerial and entrepreneurial competencies among students. With participation from over 100 students and the support of 16 student volunteers, the fest reflected strong student engagement and effective coordination under the guidance of the event coordinator, Mr. Sharad Gupta. The Week 11 Club Activity of the School of Business and Management – BBA, held on 6th December 2025 at CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Pune Lavasa Campus, marked a vibrant and engaging conclusion to the semester’s club cycle. Conducted between 10:30 AM and 12:20 PM across BBA classrooms and the recreational area of the Management Block, the event brought together 140 first- and second-year BBA students, supported by 14 student volunteers under the coordination of Ms. Devleena Banerjee. The session featured six diverse club activities, emphasizing experiential learning, collaboration, and holistic skill development. As part of the placement training programme, four sessions on leadership skills were conducted by the School of Sciences, CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Pune Lavasa Campus, from 25th November 2025 to 29th November 2025. Roy offered a comprehensive and interdisciplinary overview of the socio-cultural, political, and historical contexts surrounding contemporary artificial intelligence (AI). The lecture underscored the urgent necessity of humanistic inquiry in understanding the implications of AI systems, arguing for a critical perspective grounded in cultural studies, digital humanities, and media theory. Dr. Roy began by mapping the evolution of artificial intelligence across different hype cycles, from the early enthusiasm in the 1950s to the ‘nuclear winter’ of the 1980s, and finally to the current resurgence driven by neural networks and deep learning models.
