Day 1: Introduction to Statistical Methods and Data Types The first day began with an overview of fundamental statistical concepts and their relevance in analysing data. The workshop introduced the primary scales of measurement: nominal, ordinal, interval, and ratio. Each scale was explained in detail, emphasizing its importance in categorizing and interpreting data. For instance, nominal scales represent categories without any inherent order, while ordinal scales introduce a rank or sequence. Interval scales provide equal intervals between values but lack a true zero point, whereas ratio scales incorporate a meaningful zero, allowing for a full range of mathematical operations.
