Webinar on “Economic Careers in Modern Times”

The Department Of Data Science hosted yet another webinar on the topic “Economic Careers In modern times” by Dr. Ghanshyam Pandey, an Assistant Professor in SRM University, Amravati. The webinar posed the attendees with answers related to careers in economics.


Dr. Ghanshyam Pandey initiated the talk by speaking about Economics as an engrossing domain and how it can be put use to different factors. He made the attendees familiar with the background of the subject and how it is helpful to study economic factors of an economy. He then displayed a chart full of career prospects in economics that include Journalism, Media, International Organisations, Research, Auditing, Insurance, Advertising and many more. According to him, we can use economics to understand human behaviour and in cultivating analytical skills. Moreover, he specifically highlighted about the growing demand for economists in Government and other financial sectors. He further went on explaining how economics helps in understanding of human behaviour and in cultivating analytical skills.

The young enthusiasts who attended the webinar were delighted to gain insights about certain factors that have alleviated the importance of economics and how it can be practically applied in managing inflation, savings, poverty and utility factors. In present times, economists are everywhere from performing advisory services to policy formulations. Economists are the major crux to the development of public sectors and welfare communities.

We all wonder the Why of Economics, and Dr. Pandey very well gave answers to the same. Emphasising on economics as a career option, he mentioned the why’s and how’s of excelling this field providing the attendees a list of things to acquire. The attendees posed different questions to Dr. Pandey about varied topics of interest.

The webinar was successfully co-ordinated by all the faculties of the University.

The Third International Conference on Data Science, Computation and Security (IDSCS-22) hosted by CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Pune Lavasa Campus in association with Springer from 11th to 12th February 2022. The conference was conducted online with participants from all across the globe. The conference commenced with the inauguration ceremony at 9:30 AM.
