Christ Online Sales Championship
The Christ Online Sales Championship finale was the valedictory ceremony of the eighteen day long hardcore selling activity. It was organised by CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Lavasa campus’s marketing club - ‘Marketing Monks’. The competition was declared open on 18th of January 2020. It was all about giving a hands-on experience of some real time sales and aimed at simulating marketing students with the same. The facilitators had formulated four groups of 10-11 members each with one coordinator and one treasurer from each group. The participants were given a window of eighteen days for realizing their full potential through this sales competition and were free to achieve any target amount with the minimum being equal to their initial investment of one thousand rupees. Christ Online Sales Championship was one such event which purported to test all relevant skills, right from product planning to profit calculation to after sales services and effects. Marketing enthusiasts of Institute of Management CHRIST University, who were divided into groups, had to pitch and sell various products to be procured from TRINITY along with carrying out promotional activities. The teams were to be judged on the basis of amount invested, risk tackled, promotional techniques and the profits reaped thereafter. The intention behind the same was to implement the 4P’s of marketing in the practical aspects of life especially making the marketing students comfortable with selling as an excellent career opportunity.
The finale commenced with the launch of marketing club magazine 'MARKEZINE' by Dr. Fr. Arun Anthony, followed by presentations of all participating teams. 75 plus students attended the valedictory ceremony. Further, the Head of Academics and Head of Marketing shared their thoughts regarding this staggering competition. Thereafter, the most awaited moment - the results were announced. The winning trophy was pridefully bagged by TEAM-3. Also, the fact that the two-star performers- the sales superstars- Ms. Simran Gupta (1st position) and Mr. Rohan K Mathew (Runner-up) too, belonged to TEAM-3, left everyone with a deep feeling of pride.
All the participants and winners were congratulated and encouraged by all the faculty members. At last, the vote of thanks was proposed by Alen K. Joy, followed by the closing remark by Rahul R.
This online sales competition was one such experience which changed students' whole perspective about sales and selling. The organisers looking at the response received a plan to make it an annual event for the marketing specialisation students.
