FINANCE QUIZ

The Finance Club 'Harmoney' from the School of Business and Management (MBA) organizes a 'Finance Quiz' on 1st March 2022 at CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Pune Lavasa Campus. This finance club activity is aimed at checking the knowledge of the students with respect to the Finance Domain. The participants were from MBA Finance with 7 teams of 3 members each.


Finance club harmoney had its 5th event on 1st April 2022, where Prof Mohit Boralkar conducted the event with the support of Dr Danish Hussain and coordination of Mr Arun Kumar. The activity commenced at 2:30 PM in the presence of Professor Mohit Boralkar, Professor Danish Hussain and all the finance specialization students. Following rounds were conducted in the Finance Quiz:

  • 1st round – The Hedge Hog: In this round, 5 questions were asked to each team based on basic finance knowledge. All the teams participated in this round but team 7 got eliminated in the end.
  • 2nd round – The Whistle Blower: All the teams, except team 7, were eligible to participate in this round. This round was based on guessing the correct answer by blowing the whistle after the image was depicted on the screen. Here, team 6 and team 5 got eliminated in the end.
  • 3rd round – The Experts: This round was a theme-based round, where the remaining 4 teams had to choose a theme and then the questions were asked to them based on that theme. Team 1 chose the theme Capital Markets; Team 2 – Financial Accounting; Team 3 – Financial Analysis; team 4 – Management Accounting. Here, all the teams gave a tough competition which further led Team 1 and Team 3 to a Tie-Breaking round where team 3 got eliminated at the end of round 3, leading Team 1, Team 2, and team 4 to the finals.
  • Final Round – The Lone Survivor: This round was based on questions, where no options were provided to the contestants to guess. All the 3 finalist teams participated enthusiastically in this round, where Team 4 of Mr Shaurya Rawat, Ms Nandita Gupta and Mr Rajat Kulkarni won the entire Quiz with the highest score of 235.

The event was interactive, full of zeal, enthusiasm and the energy of competitiveness. Students were able to self-analyse their knowledge and were able to learn new things.
