BLOOD DONATION CAMP AT CHRIST (DEEMED TO BE UNIVERSITY), PUNE LAVASA CAMPUS
CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Pune Lavasa Campus organized a Blood Donation Camp under the CSA activity on 29th March 2022. The camp received an overwhelming response from the students and staff of the University. The blood donation was organized in association with ‘Jahangir Hospital Blood Bank’.
The camp started at 10:40 AM and the activity continued till 8:30 PM. The venue for the activity was the ‘Smart room’ at the Management block of the University. In the full-day activity, 120 units of blood were collected. A total of 70 units was given to Jahangir Hospital Blood Bank and as there were still several donors another Blood Bank ‘Red Plus Blood Center ‘was also involved in it and a total of 50 units was given to them.
Before the blood donation all the required check-ups i.e. Hemoglobin, weight and Blood Pressure were done by Dr Arundhati, the Medical officer at CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Pune Lavasa Campus. After the blood donation, the donors were provided with refreshments.
All the donors were provided with the certificate immediately after blood donation. The authority of the Jahangir Hospital has promised to provide Universal donor cards and blood group cards to all the donors.
The full support, backup and motivation of the Director and Dean of CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Pune Lavasa Campus Dr Fr Jossy P George made the camp a great success. The activity was initiated by Dr Arundhati, a medical officer and the support of Mr Vishal Tarawade, a medical social worker from Jahangir. The NCC cadets of CHRIST Lavasa worked to maintain discipline and order during the activity and it was highly appreciated.
