Building Tech Leadership

DAY 1 : Session 1 (4MSc DS)  Christ College, Pune

On August 5, 2024, Dr. Sherimon PC delivered a thought-provoking lecture on tech leadership to MSc Data Science students Of Christ College Pune. Dr. Sherimon's lecture offered deep insights into effective tech leadership, emphasizing the importance of passion, belief, and dedication. He illustrated how these qualities, combined with a solid academic foundation, are crucial for overcoming challenges and driving innovation. His talk also highlighted the synergy between academic knowledge and practical application, outlining essential leadership traits such as vision and strategic thinking.

The expert talk of Mr. Sherimon PC was enriching for every listener in the auditorium. His expertise as an academic and entrepreneur gave both a balanced and practical view of leadership. He shared valuable insights on time management, hard work, and business etiquette that were most useful to the students since they are going to start their professional journey. The interactive nature of the session ensured that the students left with much more than theoretical knowledge, but also practical advice they could put into use right away. Overall, the talk did a great job in terms of arming the students with the right toolset and mindset to grow into effective leaders in their future careers.


 Session 2 :  (1BSc DS & EA, BCA)  Christ University Pune Lavasa

The afternoon session was in Christ University Pune lavasa which proved to be both engaging and dynamic, offering a more interactive experience for attendees. Dr. Sherimon PC shared his valuable insights on leadership, emphasizing its critical role in driving success and innovation in the technology sector. He highlighted the significance of research in shaping effective leadership, underscoring how continuous inquiry and knowledge advancement are essential for making informed decisions and fostering progress.

Dr. Sherimon also discussed the transformative impact of technology in the modern era, explaining how it has revolutionized business practices and created new opportunities. He illustrated the ways in which technology influences various aspects of business operations, from enhancing efficiency and productivity to enabling innovative solutions and strategic decision-making.

DAY 2: Session 1  (1MSc DS and MBA)

On August 6, 2024, Dr. Sherimon PC delivered an impactful lecture on tech leadership to MSc Data Science and MBA students. The event began with a moment of silence and a student introduction highlighting Dr. Sherimon's credentials. Fr. Lijo, the Director, then spoke warmly about Dr. Sherimon’s influence and presented him with a memento in appreciation of his contributions. Dr. Sherimon's lecture focused on the key aspects of tech leadership, including passion, belief, dedication, and the integration of academic knowledge with practical experience. His insights and motivational message resonated deeply with students, emphasizing the importance of combining academic foundations with entrepreneurial skills to excel in technology and business.

Faculty Interaction with the Department of Data Science

Venue: Faculty Lounge, 2.00-3.00 PM

As in the afternoon session the discussion covered several crucial aspects related to securing funding and managing academic responsibilities. It began with guidance on the proper approach to applying for funding from both private and government agencies, emphasizing the importance of understanding the requirements and tailoring applications to meet specific criteria. The conversation then shifted to identifying potential research areas, highlighting the need for alignment with current trends and gaps in the field.

The discussion also explored opportunities for collaboration, focusing on how partnerships could lead to joint patents, research projects, and other scholarly endeavors. Effective time management was another key topic, with strategies discussed for balancing various responsibilities. This included the need to juggle documentation, Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) work, teaching duties, and research activities. By addressing these areas, the discussion aimed to provide a comprehensive understanding of managing academic and research activities efficiently while maximizing opportunities for collaboration and funding.
