Organizational Development Process Explained To MBA Students


Mr Rajesh Trivedi, Organizational Consultant, Founder, Director and CEO, Tui Consulting, Organisation Development (IOD) and Leadership Development Consulting Organization addressed HR students on 4th October 2019 and all MBA students on 5th October 2019 of Christ Institute of Management, Lavasa.

Mr Rajesh Trivedi has been managing OD certification program, consulting assignments and research program throughout India. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Science and an MBA in Human Resources and is a certified leading change organization development consultant. Mr Rajesh has worked with corporate sectors like Telecom, IT and Healthcare and companies like Hutchison Essar Ltd, Siemens Information System Limited, Fortis Healthcare Ltd and Boehringer Ingelhiem. He also worked as HR Head at Progwell Innovations Private Limited, Mumbai.
He realized change does not start from outside but starts from inside hence “be the change that you wish to see in the world” became his daily mantra. Mr Rajesh believes that organizational transformation is a must for sustainable performance and he has been persuading organizations to move from a desired future to an emerging future. He has been engaging leaders in exploring sub-conscious and unconscious process so as to improve their effectiveness. As an entrepreneur he has been extensively involved in OD and change management projects for Oil & Gas, Retail, Financial, IT, Healthcare and FMCG Organizations.
During his stint in the corporate sector he often worked with start-up phase hence was responsible for scaling up team, process execution and standardization, culture building, succession planning, leadership development, career planning, setting up performance standards and assessment and competency mapping.


Mr Trivedi presented a tried and tested perspective of Organization Development (O.D.). The sole purpose behind the talk was to experience organizational development process either as an individual or as an organization as a whole through a survey research feedback plan. It is presumed that the practical experience will be further implemented in their professional lives. A meaningful insight into the purpose behind conducting a survey will eventually benefit them on a larger scale. An element of self-awareness will be created and help them work in tandem with each other as a team.
The main aim was to bring about a tinge of novelty to the learning experience.  It can be rightly said that information is incomplete if it does not result in learning. The students observed that the learning process is more important than getting mere information.

Next step was about reflective observation and it featured cognitive learning. Mr Rajesh asserted that a student has the capability to identify himself or herself with any incident in another person’s life. A student interacts with a wide variety of people daily and is often able to identify with the experience. Such cognitive learning offers lifelong lessons.

The entire schedule was divided into two phases of two hours each. The first part was about transactional analysis and change. The third hour was dedicated to assessment of the survey. It gave them an insight into collaborative effectiveness of the team. Hence a real life scenario was created to give the students an insight into the corporate work culture. The talk culminated in a brilliant movie `Inside Out’ and it gave an insightful approach to assess their personality development. The transaction analysis will definitely help them to assess any development in their personality.

As part of a follow up plan the students were given study material to reflect on the learning process. They are expected to ponder over, analyze and then plan a strategy to bring about a desired change in their overall personality. The HR and MBA students thoroughly enjoyed their respective sessions. The talk was coordinated by Dr Jayant Mahajan.
