JING-A-LOGO: CLUB LOGO AND TAGLINE UNVEILING COMPETITION
The School of Business and Management MBA's marketing department organised the Jing-a-logo: Club logo and tagline unveiling competition on 17th March in the management block auditorium during the 1 pm to 2.30 pm club hours with MBA first-year students in attendance.
The event aimed to provide an interactive and creative platform for first-year MBA students to showcase their talents. The promotional activity was conducted in the previous two weeks, where each specialisation had to plan and create a club logo and a tagline. Each club had also to plan a play, and dance to back up the theme.
The event started at 1 pm, and the student coordinators ensured all the students were well seated and settled. Prof. Tanya Sharma marked the student’s attendance, and all the students were present. The judge for the competition was Dr Richa, HOD English department. All the faculty members, along with the academic office, were present. Noel John and Jones Joseph anchored the event from the marketing batch of MBA 2022-24. The faculty coordinators responsible for the event were Prof Stanny Dias and Prof Tanya Sharma. The students of the MBA Marketing Department planned and organized the event.
The emcees introduced the event, the rules and the judge. Prof. Stanny Dias, HoS, Marketing, declared the event open and spoke about exposure through participating in such events and creating your brand identity.
The competition was anticipated by all the students as they had been preparing for the same for a long time. Each specialization was given a week to prepare for the same, and instructions regarding the rules were also made known beforehand. The competition started with Harmoney, the finance club taking over the stage. The band from the finance department sang a few melodious songs, followed by the unveiling of their logo by Prof Mohit Boralkar. They sang melodious songs, and their performance was much appreciated by everyone. The star of the show for the finance specialization was Alan. Next was the HR club, People’s Pioneer, where they performed a dance and standup with Prof Sharad unveiling the club logo. The HR specialization students also presented a standup comedy act which left the audience in splits. Business Analytics club Insight Squad presented a group dance and visual presentation of their logo, which Prof Jayant Mahajan unveiled. The presentation had all the jazz of the technology and it was very well choreographed. Lastly marketing club, the Marketing Monks logo was unveiled by Prof Tanya Sharma. A total time of 15 mins per club was given for the logo and tagline unveiling, explanation of the logo and tagline, supported by a cultural performance. While the specialization heads unveiled the club logos, the other components were a marvel as the students performed fantastically and enthralled the audience. As the results were compiled, the finance department read out the names of the quiz competition winners with a few words of wisdom from Prof Mohit Boralkar. The volunteer team provided the smooth functioning of the event. Photos were captured by Abhiram and team.
Conclusion:
The event concluded with the declaration of the results; Insight squad- emerged as the winner, and Marketing Monks, secured the runner-up position. Next, Noel John proposed the vote of thanks. The event was a success as it helped the students to showcase their presence of mind and out-of-box thinking. The students learned about the importance of self-branding and the tools to achieve placements.
