PUBLIC AWARENESS CAMPAIGN

The event was mainly focused on the objective to provide Public Awareness on the topics of “Good Touch & Bad Touch”,” Water & Electricity”, and “ Cleanliness”. There were around 30- 35 local resident students of Lavasa from the age group of 5 – 15 years.

Good touch, bad touch was a public awareness campaign that aims to educate children about the importance of healthy physical boundaries and the difference between appropriate and inappropriate physical contact. The goal of the campaign was to empower children to understand and communicate their boundaries. It was an interactive session with the children, for some students it was difficult to make them understand as it was a sensitive topic. Educating students about the good and Bad Touches was super hard. With the help of our volunteer team, we managed to give them some insight into it. The end result was really great for this particular topic as we had more challenges such as convincing the informant in the right manner. As they were young students, it was more challenging.

The next topic for the Campaign was Save Electricity and water. Saving electricity and water focused on educating the community about the importance of conserving these resources. As they are the future of society, educating them about this topic was much needed. The campaign generally focused on providing information on ways to reduce consumption and how to use these resources efficiently, such as turning off lights and appliances when not in use and closing the taps when done using them. The result of this topic discussion was great among the students. The importance of saving electricity and water was also conveyed to them. The third topic was about cleanliness. It focused on educating and encouraging the community to maintain clean and hygienic surroundings. The campaign also focused on educating people on the importance of proper disposal of waste, litter, and pollutants, and how it affects the environment and health. A discussion was made with the students on the topic with their views. Related solutions and steps were also explained by our volunteer team to them. This was a great understanding to the students about the importance of cleanliness. Overall, it was a great experience providing awareness to the students and also educating them about some good things.
