MOU Signing Ceremony

The MOU Signing Ceremony held at Christ University on January 30, 2024, marked a significant milestone in the collaboration with the Christ University and Institute of Analytics and International Skill Development Corporation (ISDC). The ceremony, meticulously planned with a comprehensive agenda, showcased the commitment of all the parties to fostering innovation and excellence in the field of data science education and research.




The event commenced at 2:00 PM with a warm Introduction & Welcome Address delivered by Dr. Vandana Bhagat, Assistant Professor & Department Representative (International Affairs). Following the introduction, Dr. Lija Jacob, Head of the Department of Data Science at Christ University, provided an insightful overview of the institution and the Department of Data Science. This presentation offered valuable insights into the history, mission, and academic programs of Data Science department, underscoring its commitment to academic excellence and research-driven learning.

The agenda continued with Mr Milind Date, Director- Learning and Development, ISDC provided an overview of the International Skill Development Corporation. Mr. Shone Babu from ISDC has given the light on ISDC's objectives, achievements, and collaborative initiatives in the field of data science.

The ceremony proceeded with an Address by Dean and Director, Dr. Fr. Lijo Thomas, who shared his vision for the Department of Data Science and underscored the importance of strategic partnerships in enhancing educational and research opportunities.

Dr. Clare Walsh, Head of Education at the Institute of Analytics (IOA), delivered an insightful address about the role of IOA in promoting excellence in data science education and research. Dr. Walsh's discussion provided valuable perspectives on the evolving landscape of data science education and underscored the importance of industry-academia collaboration in driving innovation and knowledge dissemination.

The ceremony ended with Fr Lijo Thomas, Dean & Director and Fr. Justin Varghese, the Academic Coordinator at CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Pune Lavasa Campus, thanking our honoured guests for their participation.

The highlight of the ceremony was the Signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Christ University and IOA & ISDC. The formal signing of the MoU symbolized a strategic partnership aimed at advancing research, innovation, and excellence in data science education. The signing ceremony marked the beginning of a collaborative journey aimed at fostering interdisciplinary research and academic excellence.
A Photography session followed the MoU signing, capturing the memorable moments of the ceremony and highlighting the spirit of collaboration and camaraderie among the attendees.

The ceremony concluded with an Expert Session conducted by Dr. Clare Walsh, specifically tailored for the audience of MSc Data Science students. Dr. Walsh's expert session provided valuable insights into contemporary trends and practices in the field of data science, enriching the students' understanding and equipping them with practical knowledge and skills.

The Third International Conference on Data Science, Computation and Security (IDSCS-22) hosted by CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Pune Lavasa Campus in association with Springer from 11th to 12th February 2022. The conference was conducted online with participants from all across the globe. The conference commenced with the inauguration ceremony at 9:30 AM.
