International Experience Sharing Session on 12th December 2025

The Office of International Affairs (OIA), CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Pune Lavasa Campus, organised the International Experience Sharing Session Phase I on 12 December 2025, from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM, at the Banquet Hall, Central Block. The session was designed to provide a structured and reflective platform for faculty members to share insights, learning outcomes, and reflections from their recent international academic engagements. The initiative aimed to promote awareness of global academic practices and to encourage meaningful discussions on international exposure and collaboration.

The programme was conceptualised as part of the university’s broader internationalisation strategy, focusing on enhancing academic quality through global engagement. It sought to disseminate knowledge gained through international visits and interactions, promote peer learning, and inspire faculty members to participate actively in international mobility programmes, academic exchanges, and collaborative initiatives. The session also aimed to highlight the role of international exposure in professional development and institutional growth.

The session featured presentations by Dr. Fr. Lijo Thomas, Dr. Vijayalakshmi (presenting on behalf of herself and Prof. Alwin), Dr. Resham (online), and Dr. Rimi. The presenters shared their international experiences from academic visits to Japan, Belgium, Oman, and Vietnam, offering diverse perspectives on global higher education systems. The faculty members reflected on academic collaborations, institutional interactions, participation in scholarly activities, and exposure to innovative teaching–learning methodologies adopted by international universities.

The presentations highlighted best practices observed at international institutions, including curriculum design, assessment frameworks, research-oriented pedagogy, and student engagement strategies. Emphasis was placed on the integration of technology in teaching, interdisciplinary learning approaches, and the role of international partnerships in enhancing academic standards. The presenters also discussed the relevance of these practices to the home institution and explored possibilities for contextual adaptation within their respective academic programmes.

In addition to academic insights, the session provided valuable reflections on cross-cultural engagement and professional growth. Faculty members shared experiences related to intercultural communication, academic work culture, and administrative practices observed abroad. These discussions highlighted the importance of cultural sensitivity, adaptability, and global competence in contemporary higher education environments. The experiences were acknowledged as contributing significantly to personal development, teaching effectiveness, and broader academic perspectives.

The session effectively facilitated knowledge dissemination and peer learning, encouraging participants to reflect on the value of international exposure and its impact on academic and institutional development. It reinforced the importance of global engagement in strengthening teaching, research, and collaboration, while motivating faculty members to explore international academic opportunities and partnerships.

Overall, the International Experience Sharing Session – Phase I reinforced CHRIST (Deemed to be University)’s commitment to fostering international collaborations, promoting academic excellence, and enhancing quality through global exposure, while supporting long-term strategic international partnerships and institutional capacity building initiatives. The event concluded with sincere acknowledgements to the CDL team for their support with posters and photography, Sandip Sir and the hospitality team for arranging refreshments, the IT team for providing technical support, and all faculty participants for their active involvement and valuable contributions, which ensured the successful conduct of the programme.
