Teacher’s Day Celebrated At CHRIST, Lavasa

Teacher’s Day was celebrated with a lot of joy at CHRIST, Lavasa on 5th September 2019. MBA students took out time to cut a cake in honour of their professors in the Management Block.

On the other hand, undergraduate, post graduate and Law students assembled in Central Block to celebrate Teacher’s Day to express their gratitude and love for their educators. The event began on a solemn note in the Auditorium with readings from Holy Scriptures followed by choir. Then Academic Coordinator, Dr Fr Arun Antony addressed the students and thanked them for such a noble gesture. He rightly said that teachers are next to God and applauded the tireless academic, administrative and research work being done by the teachers and who are willing to work beyond their comfort zone. He was glad to observe that the teachers have come up to the expectations of everyone and aptly articulated that it is indeed a tough task to be a teacher. As a mark of respect for teachers, he said that he salutes the teachers and motivated the students to show utmost regard to them not just on occasions but on a regular basis. He also appreciated their organizational skills in organizing the event expertly.

It was followed by a graceful prayer dance performed by Aastha and Roopa. Then Dhruv gave a speech to express his gratitude to the teachers on behalf of all the students.

He rightly said that no matter what one does to show regard, it can never be enough. What a teacher does for them every day cannot be repaid. Whatever a student accomplishes in life, be it professional or personal, the biggest credit will always go to the teachers. Dhruv said that a teacher teaches how to survive in this competitive world. According to him, apart from being a source of knowledge and wisdom teachers are the best guides and motivators. They strive hard to shape a student’s character and make them ideal human beings.
He concluded his expression of gratitude by saying that a student can’t thank a teacher enough for what they do for them. But they can surely express their gratitude with a small token of love by dedicating 5th September and every single day to them and making them realize how grateful they are to have them in their lives.
The program in the Auditorium was efficiently anchored by Nihal Thapa and Kalyanee Tokala. Next everyone proceeded to the quadrangle for a fun filled evening.
Then Nikhil B Mohan and Satarupa Goswami took over and conducted the program with aplomb. The entertainment program began with a duet dance by Shrey and Pranshu on a peppy song. Their perfect coordination stole the show and everyone was thrilled to watch them perform with a lot of zeal and zest. After a scintillating dance some spot prizes were given to teachers on interesting topics. The highly interactive session kept everyone on toes and one could see teachers taking part in it with a lot of enthusiasm. After plenty of fun activities full of excitement and enthusiasm, there was a group song by Nihal Thapa, Kalyanee and their group. They sang some heartwarming melodious songs. Then Priyadarshani along with Aabhas gave a soulful rendition of a medley of songs. It was applauded by the cheering crowd.

The show stopper was a combination of dances on popular numbers. The foot tapping numbers were an instant hit. It was a pleasant surprise to hear a self-composed poem by Shubham Singh Chauhan which glorified the role of a teacher in a student’s life. Finally Mayank entertained the gathering with interesting anecdotes. The fun filled evening got over with musical chair for teachers. They were cheered by the crowd and the evening ended with sumptuous snacks and a small token of love and regard which was given to each teacher. Everyone appreciated the SWO creative team which worked in tandem with Student Council 2019-2020.
