Mock Interview For Final Year Management Students
A mock
interview was conducted for final year management students on 13th September
2019 in the Management Block, CHRIST, Lavasa. The interviewers were Ms Jayashri Chaudhri and Ms Gauri Patil.
Mock interview plays an important role for a
management student as it provides candidates with an opportunity
to test their interview skills with someone who isn’t evaluating them for an
actual job.
Ms Jayashri
has done BE Civil from Government College of Engineering, Aurangabad, M.
Tech in Structural Engineering from VNIT, Nagpur and Executive MBA from IIM,
Bangalore. She is an engineer
turned entrepreneur with five years of entrepreneurial experience after eight
years of corporate exposure. As Director, SkyRoots Ventures, Pune, her
company is focused on reintroducing ancient grains based products and help
society in bringing back their healthy life. She is the former President of
Business Networking International (BNI), Maestros Chapter and an active member
of LCCIA, a platform for emerging businesses. She has also featured in ‘Woman at Work’, an exclusive magazine
for women entrepreneurs.
Ms Gauri Patil, Founder, S G Designers, has done B
Arch and M Arch in Construction Management from BNCA, Pune University. She has nine years of
experience in high end residences, which includes residential buildings and
bungalows. After working as, a project head for ten years, she had started her own
firm.
The students felt that it will help them to reduce
anxiety before an interview as they were familiarised with the help of a hypothetical
situation. They also felt that the session encouraged them to polish their communication
skills. Few students felt that such sessions help them to get over the fear of
public speaking. It also gives them an opportunity to preview any
shortcoming during an interview. Once confidence is instilled in the students they
hope to perform much better in an actual interview.
The students also felt that such kind of a session gives them an
opportunity to receive constructive feedback, from an interviewing professional, in a low-stress environment and
thereby boost their confidence. Thus each practice will make
them perfect and polish their interviewing skills. The mock interview session
was coordinated by CRM, JK Pandey and he is hopeful that the students will remember
the practice session, learn from it and be able to make a good impression
during the actual interview.
