Inauguration Ceremony - CIMA (22-23)

Another year of CIMA competitions began with the inaugural ceremony for the academic year 2022-23. The event was held on 03/10/2022 at 5:00 PM in the MBA block auditorium. CIMA is a clan-based competitive event where all the students are divided into four clans - Vikings, Knights, Spartans, and Samurais. During one academic year, they compete in various events, and at the end of the year, the clan which scores the most emerges as the champion clan. The teamwork and sportsmanship of each clan are exhibited throughout the year in various activities and tasks performed by the clan members.

The ceremony started with a silent prayer followed by a welcome note by Faizan Ahmed. The introductory video of CIMA provided the students with a glimpse of its glorious past. Reverend Fr. Dr Jossy P George then addressed the gathering. He started the speech with Neil Armstrong’s famous quote, “This is one small step for a man, one giant leap for mankind.” Motivating MBA students to carve a niche in the highly competitive world, he appreciated the students' efforts and urged them to be consistent in their tasks. He concluded that MBA students must be disciplined and always on their feet.

The performances started with each clan coming to the stage and presenting their logo, tagline, and unique talents - Vikings, Knights, Spartans, and Samurais. The clans showed the logo and presented the tagline. Their team performance was based on each member's talents and the clan's uniqueness. There were dances, songs, and skits performed by the clans. Vikings depicted through a skit and dance how the clan once became ruthless and forgot righteousness and how their ancestors learnt their lesson.  Knights believe in conquering and winning. They showed how they fought against all other clans and restored their glory. Spartans came next and depicted unity through their performance. They expressed how we can win any battle if united against our enemies. Samurais were the last to perform. They exhibited the strengths of each individual. Each member came to the stage and showcased their unique talent. They proved that we need to work collectively in order to become victorious.

Prof Shrutika Mishra and Prof Tanya Sharma were the judges for clan performances. While the judges deliberated on the results, Richy Duke enthralled the audience with his excellent rap. It was followed by a band performance by Rikin, Aditya, Vardaan, Jose, and Gurtej.

Dr Richa Srishti & Prof Jobin Jacob announced the winner and runner-up of the competition. Prof Jobin congratulated each clan for their sincere efforts. Samurais were the winner, and Spartans came second. The session ended with the Vote of Thanks by Janet Jones.

The event's main objective was to bring out the student’s talent and provide them with a platform where they could perform to their fullest potential. It helped the students to upskill themselves and to know their team members in a better way.  It was a fun-filled event where teamwork and the zeal to become victorious were evident. Both seniors and juniors participated enthusiastically. The event ended with a hopeful note that many more peaceful wars are ahead in the coming months. The audience thoroughly enjoyed the electrifying evening.
