CONTRACT DRAFTING COMPETITION 2022

Organised by the Corporate Law Committee where a case study was provided to the students which contained of a situation with basic details of the contract formation.  Students were given a week’s time to make the contract and submit on email to the coordinator  and convener of corporate law Committee. Winners were awarded with certificate and prize money and every participant were given participation certificate. The contracts submitted by the participants was judged by faculties of school of law. 

A case study was provided to the participants of internal contract drafting competition. The students were either allowed to participate individually or with maximum of two members. The participation cost for an individual was 150 rupees and for a team of two cost were 200 rupees. There was no eligibility for the participation as such, was open for all students of School of Law, Lavasa campus. The Registration for the competition was started from 6th of November 2022 to 8th of November 2022. The case study was released to the participants on 9th of November 2022 and the last day of submission was 21st of November 2022. The participants had been given almost 2 weeks of time to draft the contract and after that they had submitted the drafted contract on email to the coordinator of the Corporate Law Committee (Mehak Vohra) and to the Convener of the Corporate Law Committee (Nirmit Jadwani). The contract which was submitted by the participants were evaluated and judged by the faculties of School of Law. Results were announced within the span of 1 week, In the presence of the all participants and faculty members in the auditorium of central block on 25th of November 2022. All the participants were awarded with a participation certificate, The winners and the 1st runner up were awarded with a certificate and with cash price of 2500 and 1500 respectively. 

The winner of the Internal contract drafting competition were Drishti Gupta and Digangana Sengupta, And the 1st runner were Suryanshu Ranjan and Yash Goyal.Competitions are a way where students come up and compete thereby realizing their talents and strengths. School of law took an initiative and organized an internal contract drafting competition for law students from 1st to 4th years. Nirmit Jadwani (convener of the corporate committee) and Ms. Mehak Vohra executed the competition in a very competitive way. We could see more juniors participating in this competition. The students were given a case study and they had to draft a contract. This contract had to be submitted within the next 10 days of giving the case study. The enthusiasm among the students was at its peak. Around 26 submissions were received which were judged by Mr. Sahil Gurudev, Dr. Sanjay Bang and Ms. Amrutha Valavi. Then the valedictory ceremony was held on 25/11/2022 which went very well. The first years had given a remarkable performance, and their submissions were next level. The winner and first runner-up have been given cash prizes. The competition went very well and students could learn a lot from it.
