Mother's Day Celebration

The Women Empowerment Cell, collaborating with the Centre for Social Action (CSA), arranged a memorable Mother's Day celebration on May 11, 2024. The celebration, which was organised to thank and honour mothers, and the ideal example of how to combine creativity, joy, and family love. The event was intended to promote a sense of community and solidarity among the attendees in addition to honouring the selfless work of mothers. Children and their parents arrived at the location, which was festively decorated to commemorate the special occasion, at 2:00 PM to begin the celebration. The main aim of the occasion was to provide kids with the means to convey their affection and gratitude for their moms via handmade presents and entertaining activities.

Among the event's highlights was the craft session, where kids learned how to make considerate gifts for their moms. The children worked on creating cards, flowers, and other handcrafted gifts with the assistance of volunteers from the CSA and the Women Empowerment Cell. These craft learning were carefully designed so kids of all ages could take part and have fun. Because the supplies were user-friendly and safe, anyone could participate in the activity. As they were encouraged to personalise their gifts with drawings, words, and decorations that represented their unique feelings for their moms, the children's creativity was fostered.

Games were arranged in addition to the craft activities to keep the kids occupied and happy. These games were created to encourage collaboration and teamwork among players in addition to being enjoyable. A fun and engaging experience was created for everyone when parents participated in some of the games. Because the games were cooperative, people felt more unified and connected to one another, which added to the event's memorable quality.

The parents' participation, who were mostly university employees, was a significant component of the festivities. The occasion gained additional significance from the parents' attendance, which emphasised support and gratitude for working parents who manage their personal and professional lives. This Mother's Day celebration is intended to become an annual event by the Women Empowerment Cell, which is committed to advancing the welfare and empowerment of women at the university. Through the planning of these kinds of events, the Cell seeks to continuously support and acknowledge women, creating an atmosphere in which they feel respected and appreciated. At 5:00 PM, the event came to an end. 

In summary, the Mother's Day event on May 11, 2024, demonstrated the strength of the community and the significance of honouring and valuing mothers' contributions. It emphasised the value of close family ties and the happiness that results from showing appreciation and love. A successful and effective event was produced by the Women Empowerment Cell and the Centre for Social Action, establishing a good example for future campaigns that celebrate and empower women. The Women Empowerment Cell intends to increase the number of activities it hosts to better serve the varied interests and needs of women at the university, building on the success of this year's celebration. Designed to support and acknowledge women at the institution, these programmes will encompass workshops, seminars, and leisure activities focused on personal and professional growth.

OUTCOMES OF THE EVENT

Outcome 1- Through engaging activities and meaningful time, the Mother's Day celebration reinforced family ties. Outcome 2- Through networking and support from one another, the event increased community support among university staff. Outcome 3- It strengthened the dedication to women's well-being and promoted women's contributions, thereby elevating their status and empowering them.
