International Men's Day
The CCHS team organized a warm and engaging celebration of International Men’s Day on 19 November 2025, dedicated to appreciating the contributions and positive presence of all the male staff members on campus. The event was thoughtfully planned to recognize their daily efforts, their supportive roles, and the value they add to creating a balanced and collaborative environment. It served as an opportunity to offer them a well-deserved break from routine and a moment to feel acknowledged and celebrated for their consistent hard work and commitment throughout the academic year.
To make the occasion lively, interactive, and memorable, two fun-filled activities—Passing the Parcel and Musical Chairs were arranged. These simple, nostalgic games were chosen intentionally because they naturally encourage teamwork, participation, and an atmosphere of joy. As the music began and participants joined in, the room quickly transformed into a space filled with laughter, energy, and friendly excitement. Many staff members expressed that it had been a long time since they engaged in such carefree and enjoyable activities, which made the moment even more special and refreshing for them.
Passing the Parcel created a sense of suspense with every pause of the music, while Musical Chairs added a playful competitiveness that brought out enthusiastic cheers from everyone watching. These activities not only created fun but also fostered bonding among staff, allowing them to connect beyond their usual roles and responsibilities. The light-hearted environment allowed colleagues to interact more freely, helping strengthen relationships and creating a deeper sense of camaraderie. At the end of the games, two winners were announced—one from each activity. To make the moment memorable, the CCHS team had arranged small surprise gifts as tokens of appreciation. The winners were thrilled, and their expressions of gratitude highlighted the meaningfulness of the gesture. Overall, the entire celebration reflected the team’s intention of creating a positive, inclusive space where staff felt valued and recognized. It reinforced the idea that moments of appreciation and togetherness contribute significantly to a healthy institutional culture.
Throughout the session, students interacted with facilitators, asked questions, and shared personal reflections about maintaining balance amidst academic pressures. Many expressed appreciation for a dedicated space where health, movement, and mindfulness converged.
Overall, the event successfully created an atmosphere of openness, learning, and collective wellness. It reminded students that diabetes prevention begins with small, sustainable lifestyle choices and that practices like yoga serve as powerful tools for nurturing the body and calming the mind. The celebration brought genuine smiles, strengthened connections, and reminded everyone of the importance of expressing appreciation for the people we work alongside every day. The positive response from the staff members made the initiative truly rewarding and further encouraged the team to continue organizing thoughtful events that nurture a supportive and uplifting campus environment. Moments like these help build a culture where individuals feel seen, respected, and acknowledged beyond their professional responsibilities. By providing opportunities for bonding and shared joy, the CCHS team continues to promote harmony, mutual respect, and a strong sense of belonging within the university community. The success of this celebration reaffirmed the value of simple gestures and collective experiences in creating a more connected and appreciative workplace, motivating the team to plan more such initiatives in the future.
