Sunset Point Trek
The Readers’ Club, in collaboration with The Trekkers Club, successfully organized a refreshing and engaging trek to Sunset Point near Hotel Ekant on 15th November 2025, from 2:30 p.m. onwards. The initiative aimed to promote wellness, outdoor engagement, bonding, and camaraderie among The Readers’ Club members while encouraging an appreciation for nature. The trek commenced from the Trinity, Central Block, where all participants assembled on time. A total of 18 students participated, accompanied by Mr. Santosh, Readers’ Club Coordinator, and Mr. Alanso, Trekkers Club Coordinator.
After a brief introduction to the route and important safety instructions, the group proceeded towards Sunset Point by the University bus. The bus dropped all members near Hotel Ekant and returned, marking the starting point of the actual trek. The trekking trail from Hotel Ekant was slippery, uphill, and passed through a dense forest, offering an adventurous and thrilling experience. The route provided a pleasant mix of mild elevation, scenic greenery, and cool breezes, making the journey enjoyable for all participants. After approximately 50 minutes of trekking, the group reached the viewpoint. Members were greeted with a serene panoramic landscape and the tranquil surroundings of the hills. It served as a perfect opportunity for participants to relax, interact, and enjoy the beauty of nature away from their daily routines. Many members captured memorable photographs, adding joy to the experience. To enhance the outdoor experience, Mr. Santosh brought ingredients for preparing bhel for all members. Students actively contributed by helping with onion and tomato cutting, and together they prepared bhel for the group. Participants then divided into three groups and enjoyed the bhel amidst nature.
After eating, all members responsibly collected the waste and packed it in a bag to bring back, ensuring the area remained clean and undisturbed. Towards the end of the trek, Mr. Santosh announced the upcoming Book Review Competition 2025 and encouraged all members to participate. He also shared the competition poster on the Readers’ Club WhatsApp group for wider dissemination. After completing the trek, all members reached Hotel Ekant again at around 5:30 p.m. to enjoy the sunset from Sunset Point.
The group witnessed the beautiful sunset at approximately 5:55 p.m., which added a memorable and peaceful conclusion to the day. Shortly after, the University bus arrived at Hotel Ekant to take the group back to the campus, where they were dropped off at 6:30 p.m. The trek concluded successfully, with participants expressing satisfaction and enthusiasm for future outdoor events. The Readers’ Club extends heartfelt appreciation to The Trekkers Club for their collaboration and guidance, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for all. The event highlighted the importance of physical activity, teamwork, and community bonding, reinforcing the clubs’ commitment to holistic development.
