CRESCEDENT 3.0’ - A FOOTBALLER’S MARVEL
`Crescedent 3.0’, an open category Football tournament, began amidst loud cheer at Christ Institute of Management, Lavasa football ground on 23rd November 2018 and it got over on 25th November 2018. Koustav initiated the event and welcomed everyone on behalf of CIM, Lavasa. Later Sonia and Ann took over the anchoring. It was a proud moment to announce the participation of 22 football teams from various parts of the country along with two teams from CIM. Nearly 300 players exhibited their skills on the field.
It was organized under the leadership of Assistant Professor Ashish Wilson and the students who worked tirelessly for the successful execution of the tournament were Joel Nishanth J, Hari Prasad, Koustav Mukhopadhyay, Marshal Sabu, Josphin T J, Jinto Kurian and Jeet Aditya Purohit.
After hosting the event twice successfully the students of CIM were fully charged to host the third edition of Crescedent. Special guests from St George School, Mumbai and their teachers along with Fr Danny were also welcomed during the inaugural ceremony. The enthusiastic participation could be seen everywhere as students could be seen guiding, helping and arranging for the event. The initiative by students of CIM is noteworthy as it is the biggest event in and around Pune.

The event began with a medley of dance performance by the dance team, Natyaveda. It was a sight to behold as the students danced to the beats of foot tapping numbers. Then Academic Coordinator, Fr Arun Antony addressed the gathering amidst lush greenery and beautiful ambience. He motivated the footballers to practice discipline, right attitude, control and true sportsmanship spirit on and off the field during the next three days.
Fr Arun narrated an inspiring incident from the life of an aspiring player, Freddy Adu who could have done wonders on the field, had he been motivated and encouraged in life. Fr Arun was confident that the players had talent, attitude and motivation to give their best on the field. He congratulated Joel and his entire team for tirelessly working hard for successfully hosting the event. He asked the players to remember that they must play the game in its true spirit as they display their talent in a true sportsmanship spirit.
Next Eric and Sanchit sang a song and their performance was loudly cheered by one and all. As part of good will gesture the sponsors namely Ekant, Fortune and Celebration have kindly consented to give complimentary meals.. Each team was presented a football with Christ and Crescedent logo inscribed on it. After the formal announcement Director, Fr Jossy declared the three day Football Event open.

The winner of the tournament was Orange Army and the runner up was Infant's FC.
Best Goal Keeper – Tejas from Orange Army
Top Goal Scorer – Ashok from Orange Army
Best Player – Shetty from Orange Army
Best Defender – Aadhil Patel from Infant’s FC.
The winner got Rs 30, 000 cash prize along with medals, trophy and free buffet dinner at ITC Fortune whereas the runner up received Rs 20,000 and a complimentary buffet dinner at celebration Hotel. The sponsors were Hotel Garva, Mauli Construction, Geo Painter, ITC Fortune Hotel, Celebration Hotel, Ekant, The Retreat, Royal Industrial Products and Trinity Enterprises.
