Law Fraternity Of Christ, Lavasa Attends A Leadership Camp At Nilshi
The students of the School of Law, CHRIST CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Lavasa attended a leadership camp at YMCA Camp Lakeside, Nilshi from 17th to 20th February 2020. The camp was pedagogical in nature and focused on developing the forte and competence of the students. It was a three-day long camp and the students were accompanied by faculty members. The students were divided into groups and allotted tents to stay and the faculty members stayed in dormitories.
The students and faculty members left Lavasa campus on 17th February 2020 and the 5-hour long journey was made memorable by just relaxing in the bus, enjoying the scenery outside and discussing ideas for the forthcoming camp. YMCA Camp Lakeside at Nilshi is a 40 acre campsite surrounded by serene Andhra Lake. After lunch the tents were allocated the students went for a swim in the lake and it was followed by a tea break.
Later, by 7PM the students assembled in the conference hall for an open forum event, wherein, everyone was given an opportunity to express themselves and their views were discussed in detail. The critical appreciation session was a good ice-breaker. It was followed by an interactive exercise wherein the student community spared some time to work on their moral uprightness and bond with each other despite having a difference of opinion. The day ended with some interesting games and everyone retired back to their tents.
The second day was equally exciting and challenging. Soon after breakfast the students were taken to the conference hall to conduct CIA 1 presentation for different subjects. The serious presentation was quite engaging in nature and after the presentation it was time to relax and unwind. Some students went for swimming while others opted for kayaking and after lunch the students organized a fun-filled game called ‘treasure hunt’ for themselves within the camp site.
It was followed by yet another session in the conference hall wherein the student interacted with faculty members informally. It was fun to watch students enjoy music and dance, exhibit their talent and speak from their hearts. The informal nature of the interactive session helped them to shed inhibition and be frank. The day ended with a sumptuous dinner followed by campfire. ‘Tug of War’ was the highlight of the day and it was played by the students in the right sportsman spirit.
The last day began with a group photo session after delectable breakfast and the team left Nilshi by 10. 30 AM and reached Lavasa by 3.30 PM. The entire camp was an experiential educational programme and the students were given an opportunity to take a break from the daily routine and discover their potential, address their fears and flaunt their talent. It proved to be a big success as it successfully retained the spirit of camaraderie amongst everyone in the School of Law. The leadership camp was coordinated by HOD, School of Law, Dr Daisy Alexander.
