Centre For Entrepreneurship Development Conducted `Business Ideas Fest And Competition’

`Business Ideas Fest And Competition’ was conducted on 12th March 2020 in the Smart Room, Management Block under the guidance of Dr Ambuj Gupta as part of Centre For Entrepreneurship Development venture. It was clearly and categorically mentioned in advance that it was a business idea competition not a business plan competition.

The external experts included upcoming marketing experts; Mr Devendra Angal and Mr Amit Rathore, from i-Gen Consulting based at Pune. Mr Devendra Angal is a management graduate in Finance and Founder Director of IGen. He has more than 20 years of experience in banking and financial services domain in various senior positions. He started iGen in 2002 and uses his expertise in credit risk assessment, control systems, profitability enhancement and financial restructuring to add value for the customer.


The second judge was Mr Amit Rathor, who joined I-Gen in 2016 as Director Sales, Strategy and Alliances. He is a self-motivated enterprising individual and excels in Customer Delight, Relationship Management and Business Development. With 16+ years of experience he has worked in top IT companies like Tata Consultancy, Infosys and Tech Mahindra in various roles before starting on his own.

The students had the liberty to participate solo or as a team representing a single business idea. The competition saw active participation by many UG, PG and MBA students. They were given precisely ten minutes to present their ideas in front of the jury. The market experts assessed them minutely and asked pertinent questions. The students answered confidently and convincingly to get the prize. It was noteworthy to observe that the judges gave valuable and detailed feedback on each and every idea presented by young students.  

Academic Coordinator, Dr Fr Arun Antony felicitated guests and Director & Dean, Dr Fr Jossy George was also present during the course of the competition. The presence of HOA, Dr Binu Paul and Assistant Professor Sanjay Sahai encouraged the students to give their best.

The first prize was bagged by Christy from MBA, the second prize was given to Kshitij Patni also from MBA and the third prize was shared by Rishab Grag and Mohit from BBA (Business Analytics). Dr Ambuj rightly mentioned that the student committee members of the Centre for Entrepreneurship Development made all efforts to make the event successful.
