Lavasa Corporation And Christ University Joins Hands To Celebrate Women’s Day
Life in Lavasa is defined by enjoying the solitude, admiring the pristine beauty all around and being a part of an active life as a Christite. It was a pleasure to watch the promenade come alive with a plethora of events meticulously planned by CSA in association with Lavasa Corporation on Saturday, 7th March 2020. The enthusiastic students of CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Lavasa. CSA representatives organized an interactive event by the lake side at the promenade to celebrate International Women’s Day. The event commenced at 3 pm and the cheerful hosts briefed the curious crowd comprising of students, local residents and tourists. The programs were organized and conducted to raise awareness amongst the students through fun filled activities.
The events included an obstacle bicycle race for men. It was interesting to watch them pause in between and do certain activities such as folding clothes, passing the thread through a needle hole etc. it was a sight to behold and everyone thoroughly enjoyed watching them and the contestants were also delighted performing household chores. The winners were aptly given prizes for their acts. The next event were tried and tested games ie. musical chair and lemon and spoon race for women. Another challenging but fascinating game involved doing push-ups.
On a serious note, a street play was put up by team Nazariya on ‘Triple Talaq’ which demonstrated the adversities faced by Muslim women before Judiciary intervened. The message was conveyed in a subtle way.
The college band ‘Dhuaa’ gave a scintillating performance and played some catchy foot tapping numbers and the crowd joined the entertainment.
To conclude the games, street play and activities reiterated that women are an important part of a society and have served the entire humanity for decades. They are the backbone of a family or society all over the world. Celebrating the glory of womanhood can be attributed as a responsibility by each individual and one should ensure that this celebration is not limited to mere one day in a year, rather everyone must acknowledge the role of a woman in all walks of life.
