Guest Lecture On `Data Visualization Techniques’ By Mr Bastin Robin

Department of Computer Science organised a guest lecture on `Data Visualization techniques’ by Mr Bastin Robin, Chief Data Scientist, Clever Insight Inc, Bengaluru on 7th march 2020 from 8:00 AM - 10:00 AM at M.Sc. Data Science (MSc DS-1) classroom, 1st floor, Central block.


The lecture began with an explanation about the importance of data visualization along with a detailed explanation about the importance of data storytelling. It was quite informative and interesting and the students listened in rapt attention. The students were quite fascinated to know how different subjects taught in MSc are interconnected. Then Mr Bastin Robin gave a live demonstration of how crime rate analysis in Pune can find a correlation and how the names and results are interconnected. The students were further interested to know more about the basic tools of data visualization. It caught their attention and they enquired more about them.

Then the concept of curse of dimensionality was elaborated and it gave meaningful insights into the topic. Mr Robin gave a lot of information about use case pertaining to what people usually search in Google. It was quite interesting as the students were able to relate to the current scenario. Finally, the informative ended with some valuable information as to how data visualization is helping companies in achieving good ROI. Overall, the lecture was quite informative in nature and the students showed a lot of interest and asked some relevant questions.

PANEL DISCUSSION ON LEADERSHIP & ENTREPRENEURSHIP DEVELOPMENT SKILLS

The Third International Conference on Data Science, Computation and Security (IDSCS-22) hosted by CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Pune Lavasa Campus in association with Springer from 11th to 12th February 2022. The conference was conducted online with participants from all across the globe. The conference commenced with the inauguration ceremony at 9:30 AM.
