IMPERIO’22 - Intra-Collegiate Business and Management Fest
Imperio’22 was an intra-collegiate business and management fest conducted by CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Pune Lavasa Campus. The event was attended by the entire BBA business analytics department. It primarily involved the first and second-year students who competed for the title of the undefeated 8-Bit Gamer with a spirit of healthy camaraderie in this intellectually stimulating fest. The participants’ administrative skills were tested in a variety of intriguing activities and tasks centred on the event's theme, 8-Bit Games. This gave them the impression that a nostalgic memory can become a real-life situation. There were instances when the event required participants to provide remarkable answers that met the criteria for solving real-world challenges.
The event was a culminated effort of the students, teachers, management and participants. Every moment seems like a dream in a domain where one blossom on the thought of nostalgia. This season has come to pass. A pixelated representation of life that encourages participants to reveal their hidden talents by levelling up along the route. As they make their way to the final boss, they combine their administrative prowess.

Imperio'22 officially began on 17th May 2022, at 9:15 AM with the inauguration ceremony. Our Dean, Fr Jossy P George, started off with an enlightening presentation about the value of participation and its impact on character development. The event was then declared open by the Faculty in Charge, Ms Monica L, who ignited the lamp alongside the Dean of CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Pune Lavasa Campus the Head of the Department of the School of Business and Management Dr Parameswaran S, and CUSBMA representative Varshika Gunasekaran.
The students gave it to them all across the two-day event, displaying excitement, competitiveness, and perseverance. As they sought victory, we watched the Best Managers pull through with their teams. Our Best Analysts worked on numerous data platforms, while our Finance Managers monitored the stock market's ups and downs. Participants demonstrated their tenacity by working against the clock to develop innovative, long-term solutions to "real-world" challenges. The rounds were both a challenging and learning experience.
Each judge arrived ready for a feisty round of interrogation. For a more "real world" feel, stress interviews, presentations, and crisis aversions were all used.
Overall, the participants, organizers, and everyone else who was engaged gained a wealth of experiences that no high score in a game could provide!
BEST MANAGER: Wreck-It-Ralph
The first day began with a productive debate session, followed by a live presentation round in which participants were given case studies of well-known corporations. Diamond Dash, the final round of the day, was a cryptic round in which the contestants were in for a surprise; it was about concerns regarding diamond smuggling in Africa.
The second day consisted of three rounds, with just 12 of the 25 contestants qualifying. Because the job of the Best Manager is so important in any organization, the day began with a rush of adrenaline as the contestants faced a rigorous interview. The fifth round incorporated Morse code, which provided more hints about the round as the contestants cracked the code. The final round was held in the Central Block auditorium in the Lavasa Campus.
BEST MANAGEMENT TEAM: The Managerial Kombat
This event included 25 teams with three members in each team, making it the largest event with over 75 participants. The rounds were inspired by Mario Kart, a popular arcade game. Finance, Marketing, Public Relations, and many more topics were covered in each round. The first day consisted of five rounds, with eliminations beginning in the third round. This event featured a variety of rounds including debates, auctions, treasure hunts, and prototype creation.
HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT: HR Mutant Conflict Turtles
One of the most interesting activities of the event was the Human Resource Management event. The organizers considered switching venues so that the participants might gain real-world experience. This event was noted to employ not only classrooms but also the Moot Court of the School of Law to carry out its activities. The participants were thrilled with anticipation as the round names were intriguing, which produced a sense of suspense. Elevator pitches, live conversations, and stress interviews were all part of these rounds. After round 6 on the second day, only 8 teams remained out of 25.
FINANCE: Sonic’s Gold Rush
Six rounds were planned for this two-day event, with three rounds on each day. Dr Parameswaran S., the Head of the Department, judged one of the rounds held at this event. The elimination round was conducted on the second day with roughly 20 participants.
As they progressed through the rounds, the student participants demonstrated excellent knowledge and skill in the subject and were very motivated.
MARKETING MANAGEMENT: Pixel Kingdom
The event started with 27 teams at the beginning of day 1, but by the end of day 2, there were only 5. This competition featured the most creative and challenging rounds. These included a fast quiz, a pitch and market round, and a mock advertisement. Each round featured a product that needed to be sold, revived, or created from scratch. Marketing instilled creativity and critical thinking skills beneficial to participants in their respective fields.
THE BEST ENTREPRENEUR EVENT: CIRCUS CHARLIE
It was an individual event, and thus, the title of the Best Entrepreneur was a prized possession for every participant. The competition began with 20 teams and ended with 6. On day one, there were three rounds and on day two, there were two. The first day began with a Happy Treasure Hunt, but as the rounds progressed, the difficulty level increased.
STRATEGIC MANAGEMENT AND PUBLIC RELATIONS: Hogans Alley
The participants in this event were put to test in a classroom setting to see if they could handle the pressures of the real world. The judges interrogated the students and made sure they didn't leave any gaps during the rounds. Prof. Monica L., our Faculty Coordinator, assessed the final round. This event included 24 teams that were eventually reduced to 4. Oral presentations, live discussions/press conferences, and a treasure hunt were parts of this event.
THE ANALYTICS EVENT: Pacman
As analytics is a major part of CHRIST University’s curriculum, this round gave students a better understanding of what their professional lives would be like once they started working. The event began with basic introductory rounds and progressed to a series of sophisticated rounds that matched the level of first-year students to that of second-year students. The competition comprised of 7 rounds, 5 of which were held on the first day and the rest on the second. The event also had a joint round with strategic management and public relations.
