BEING AN AUTHENTIC LEADER
The library in association with the BBA department organized this guest talk for the students of BBA to develop leadership skills. Mr Emmanuel David, Former head of Tata Management and Training Centre, Pune and Adjunct Professor of National Institute of Advanced Studies, Indian Institute of Science Campus, Bengaluru - 560 012, India delivered the talk to students and faculty members. The event started with the introduction of a guest by Dr Parameswaran, Coordinator, BBA department. Fr Jossy P George the Dean and Director of CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Pune Lavasa Campus gave his introductory remark of the talk and explained the significance of the topic. Dr Rohit Kumar Sharma, master of the event conducted the event with great enthusiasm.
Mr Emmanuel with working experience of four decades many real-time leadership examples. He explained the qualities of a leader and the advantages of imbibing these qualities and skills in the working environment. He sufficiently gave deliberation on managing the companies successfully being an authentic leader. Mr Emmanuel made the talk interesting by narrating a story and relating the story to real-time management challenges.
The students had great interaction with Mr Emmanuel and he cleared all their doubts over the topic. For the benefit of students and faculty. He also asked the librarian to share the original article written by Mr Bill George titled “Discovering Your Authentic leadership” published in Harvard Business Review in February 2007.
He concluded his talk with his experience of how authentic leadership has proven to be a great connector with his employers and employees to emerge as leaders at various organizations.
