AVALANCHE '23


Showcasing the competitive spirit and athletic talent of participants in numerous sports disciplines, AVALANCHE '23, Winter Sports Championship was a remarkable sports event held over six exciting days from 25th October to 31st October conducted by the Sports Committee of the Student Bar Association, School of Law, Christ University, Pune Lavasa Campus. Athletes, fans, and enthusiasts came together in a frenzy of enthusiasm for this diverse event, which comprised basketball, volleyball, cricket, futsal, and badminton. The champions and first runners-up received well-earned awards for their outstanding efforts, and the competition was intense and the enthusiasm was palpable.

The opening day of AVALANCHE '23 included both volleyball and futsal, making it a double treat. Teams Karasuno and Villa 165 made their way to finals with spectacular spikes, dives, and cooperation. The futsal courts were humming with enthusiasm as teams demonstrated their footwork and agility. Teams Blue Lawk FC and MidWinters were proclaimed as finalists, with the audience in awe of their dribbling and passing skills. With their excellent ball control and rapid moves. The second day of AVALANCHE '23 was devoted to the fast-paced, high-scoring sport of basketball. Teams demonstrated their dribbling, shooting, and defensive abilities. Teams Falcons and One For All made further progress in the competition after demonstrating exceptional precision in their shots and excellent ball movement. The Third ,fourth and fifth day of the tournament was dedicated entirely to the populus sport cricket. On the cricket fields, there was spectacular batting, precise bowling, and beautiful fielding having two Groups A and B. Fifth day we witnessed the more intense matches as it was the semi finals and finals of this much awaited sport. Warriors won by wickets in the dramatic finals of the cricket match between Warriors and Villa 165. It was a thrilling game that featured outstanding batting and cooperation, with the Warriors claiming the championship and celebrating their well-deserved victory. On the fifth day, badminton fans flocked to watch lightning-fast smashes and amazing rallies. Badminton spectators witnessed a great game by the men and women in Single tournaments. The women’s singles and men’s singles gave us a finalist who played with great agility and accuracy. The sixth and final day of AVALANCHE '23 was a confluence of events that included the most anticipated bouts.



The finalists from each discipline battled it out for the ultimate prize. It was a day of nail-biting endings, outstanding skill displays, and unyielding tenacity. The winner of Volleyball was Karasuno making Villa 165 as the runner ups of the match. The futsal ground witnessed the winning of MidWinters FC against BlueLawk Fc after a great match. The winner of basketball was One For All making Falcons, the runner ups of the event. After a powerful shuttle shot, the Badminton Men’s Singles was won by Pruthvi who won against Sriram and Women’s Singles was won by Yashvi against Anusha. The cricket match was won by warriors against Villa 165 The victors and first runners-up in each event were determined when the dust cleared.


The competition finished with a beautiful medal ceremony in which the champions and first runners-up got their well-deserved medals and stood proudly on the podium. The audience applauded as they recognized the athletes' hard work and devotion. AVALANCHE '23 was more than simply a sporting event; it was a monument to the power of sports in uniting people, creating collaboration, and highlighting the tremendous abilities of athletes from all disciplines. It made an indelible impression on both players and spectators, and when the last medals were distributed, everyone eagerly anticipated AVALANCHE '24, knowing that it would continue to be a celebration of sporting brilliance and unity.
