Gladiator 26


GLADIATOR’26, the annual inter-class Sports and Cultural Competition of the School of Business & Management (BBA), CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Pune Lavasa Campus, in collaboration with Christ University School of Business & Management Association (CUSBMA) was successfully conducted during the academic year 2025–26. The event was held from 23rd March 2026 to 1st April 2026, between 5:00 PM and 10:00 PM, across multiple venues including the Amphitheatre, Football Ground (Management Block), Sports Arena, Badminton Court, Turf, Activity Hub, Volleyball Court, and Basketball Court (Central Block). The event was coordinated by Dr. Shine Raju Kappil and Dr. Shakib Mir, with the support of 9 student volunteers and active participation from over 450 students from BBA BA and BBA Honours. The primary objective of GLADIATOR’26 was to promote sportsmanship, teamwork, leadership, and holistic student development by combining competitive sports events with vibrant cultural performances. The event witnessed enthusiastic involvement from all 11 classes, making it one of the most engaging campus-wide competitions of the year.

The inauguration of GLADIATOR’26 commenced on 23rd March 2026 at the Amphitheatre (Management Block) from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM, where all class representatives participated in the official jersey reveal and the lot-taking process for determining byes across different games. This session was coordinated under the guidance of Dr. Shine Raju Kappil and Dr. Akshaya AVR. Later on the same day, the formal inaugural ceremony was held at the Basketball Court (Central Block) from 4:30 PM to 5:00 PM, where Fr. Lijo Thomas inaugurated the event by shooting the basketball, symbolizing the spirit of sports and competition. Following this, Fr. Justin P. Varghese handed over the ceremonial light torch to the class representatives. The torch relay was conducted sequentially from 2BBA A to 6BBA D, reflecting unity and collective participation among the student groups.

Basketball matches commenced immediately after the inauguration on 23rd March and continued until 9:15 PM, under the supervision of Dr. Ucchita Sharma and Dr. Shine Raju Kappil, with squad duty support by Dr. Monica L. On 24th March 2026, events including pickleball, pool, and table tennis were conducted at the Sports Arena (Central Block) from 5:00 PM to 9:20 PM, coordinated by Dr. Barna Naidu, Ms. Develeena Banerjee, and Dr. Pragya Mondal, with squad duty handled by Dr. Purnendu.

On 25th March, competitions such as badminton, chess, and arm wrestling were held at the Badminton Court and Social Sphere (Central Block). The events ran from 5:00 PM to 9:15 PM and were overseen by Dr. Bipllab Roy, Ms. Raji Nair, and Dr. Alphonsa, with squad duty performed by Dr. Monica. The football tournament took place on 26th March at the Football Turf (Central Block) from 3:00 PM to 10:00 PM, monitored by Dr. Akshaya and Dr. Saran, with squad duty by Prof. Amit Seth.


The Volleyball matches were conducted on 27th March at the Volleyball Court (Central Block) from 5:00 PM to 9:45 PM, coordinated by Ms. Tooba Bilgrami and Dr. Parvathy Nair. The cricket tournament was held on 29th March, with first-round matches from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, and remaining matches resumed from 3:00 PM to 8:30 PM at the Football Ground (Management Block) under the supervision of Dr. Saran and Dr. Shakib Mir. On 31st March, the much-awaited Tug of War (Boys and Girls) competition was conducted from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM, coordinated by Dr. Akshaya AVR and Dr. Shine Raju Kappil.
The event concluded with the Cultural Competition on 1st April 2026, held from 5:00 PM to 9:30 PM. Each class showcased themed performances incorporating dance, skits, and music, demonstrating creativity, teamwork, and stage presence. The cultural events were evaluated by Ms. Tania Sharma (MBA Faculty), Ms. Pritty Jain, and Ms. Pallavi Pandey (Department of Commerce).

GLADIATOR’26 concluded on a celebratory note, with 6BBA D emerging as the overall champions. The runner-up position was jointly secured by 4BBA A and 6BBA C. Overall, the event served as a remarkable platform for student engagement, fostering discipline, competitive spirit, and cultural expression, while strengthening unity and collaboration among students and faculty members.
