WEBINAR ON DISASTER RISK REDUCTION

The Environmental Law Committee of the Student Bar Association School of Law, CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Pune Lavasa Campus organized a seminar on Disaster Risk Reduction.


The seminar was conducted to know the genesis of disaster management in India, the event took place on 27th November 2021. The seminar was conceptualized by the faculty member Prof Amrutha Valavi. The seminar begins at 10:00 AM on Saturday, 27th November 2021. The event commenced with the introductory remark given by Gyanendra, Vedant, and Samira to the participant. Dr Daisy Alexander welcomed the guests Mr Saurabh Singh, Deputy Director, State Disaster Management Authority, Home Ministry, Govt of Madhya Pradesh, and Mr Jayant Roushan, Sr Chemical Consultant, National Disaster Management Authority, Ministry of Home affairs. The prime focus of the lecture delivered by Mr Saurabh Singh was on the understanding of the basic meaning of disaster and what are the types of disaster, different aspects of disaster management were beautifully explained and the main focus is given to the COVID-19 situation and the instant response.


Mr Jayant Roushan who was our second guest for the lecture has laid down the main emphasis on the man-made disaster that is more harmful than a natural disaster. Various facts which give rise to man-made disasters were discussed, various methods were discussed to reduce man-made disasters for example the mock drills, a mock exercise that should be in every organization is discussed. The concluding remarks and vote of thanks are given by Karthik Anand.

PANEL DISCUSSION ON LEADERSHIP & ENTREPRENEURSHIP DEVELOPMENT SKILLS

The Third International Conference on Data Science, Computation and Security (IDSCS-22) hosted by CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Pune Lavasa Campus in association with Springer from 11th to 12th February 2022. The conference was conducted online with participants from all across the globe. The conference commenced with the inauguration ceremony at 9:30 AM.
