INAUGURATION OF READERS' CLUB CARPE LIBRUM: READERS' ARENA
Mr Amit Nagpal, the author of the book “The elephant at the dinner table” visited the campus and it was the first offline event on the campus after the pandemic. The Inauguration of Readers Arena: Carpe Librum was conducted on 05th March 2022 at Central block Auditorium of CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Pune Lavasa Campus There was great enthusiasm among the students to attend the event. The event started at 12:30 PM and Director Dr Fr Jossy P George gave an introductory remark on the significance of the Club and about the book authored by Mr Amit Nagpal. He encouraged the students to inculcate their reading habits and visit the library regularly. He appreciated the efforts taken by the students to arrange such author talks for the benefit of the university students.
Mr Amit Nagpal shared the idea of this book and how went on to become the Global HR of various multinational companies. In addition, the book became very popular and was listed in Amazon’s top ten charts. The author has 33 real-life short stories, which will inspire all and explore the world of possibilities.
He went on to discuss:
- Fear of not being good enough
- Unfulfilled potential
- Anxiety around future
- Finding a purpose-driven career
- Inability to harmonise between the work and life
- Lack of meaningful work
The students had a very good question and answer session and the author presented two signed copies to students for those who answered his questions. In the end, it was a very fruitful session for all students who attended.
The guest talk was accepted well by the student and faculty members with good interaction with Mr Amit Nagpal. He thanked the management of CHRIST (Deemed to be University), Pune Lavasa Campus for arranging this talk and giving him the opportunity to share his thoughts on this topic with students.
